My Whirlpool ARC7453 Fridge/Freezer keeps Thawing out the Freezer. The devide between the Fridge sefction and Freezer is warm to touch so I am guessing the defrost function comes on and stays on?? If I look around the back to the left and rear of the compressor I can see some kind of control any ideas what it does??
Switch it off and on at the the electric socket. This has cured the problem with my freezer. Switch it off and on at the the electric socket. This has cured the problem with my freezer.

Not a 5 min. explanation, but in short, if the compressor and fan are both running, question is, Is the freezer cold but not the fridge? If so, defrost properly for approx. 12 hours to remove all ice then restart. If not, one of 2 options remain, there is either a Blockage in the system, or there is a leak in the system. Either way, you need to call a service technician. Truthfully, if diagnosed with a leak, i suggest you replace the fridge as these leaks do not get repaired properly especially if it is internal and good money will get wasted. Hope i helped.
I am no pro on these but it sounds like your defrost heating coils are coming on to often. You may want to check them. Aslo just for good measure>>>
Is your circulating fan working?
Sometimes they stick and need a shot of WD 40 and then work
it back and forth a little until it wants to take off again. Keep me informed
and PLEASE give a Thumbs Up for the effort. The Raz Shack

Also check to see if anything is blocking any airflow at the vents.

Hi, you have a common problem with your control boards; there is a cheap fix if you can use a soldering iron or you can have your modules repaired. Let me know
It sounds like the motor to the circulating fan is wearing out . This fan is hard to diagnose as it will spin the blade , but as you said it will not spin fast enough to circulate air thru the freezer and refrigerator. The motor is DC non brush type. It will cost a minimum of $300.00 to repair/replace this fan assembly, but it is worth that compared to replacing the refrigerator
Try cleaning along seal and seal itself. If it does not work get new seal. The seal do go bad after a while.. If under warranty call dealer you purchased from for them to replace.
Sounds like bad cold control. Replace it. I cannot see your repyl due to some tech issue w/ the site, so it may be a day or so before I can reply again. Please leave feedback for me if appropriate. Thanks
It is normal for the freezer or fridge walls to be hot sometimes, some important points are to make sure that there is enough ventillation around the fridge/freezer, especcially the back, so that air can circulate around it freely. Also maybe just check that there hasn't been anything fallen down the back blocking the vent, and that there isn't a dust collection or anything. Otherwise as far as I know this is normal.
