For the past 2 months now my laptop has been freezing constantly or getting the BSoD(Blue Screen of Death). Sometimes when I'm lucky my laptop will run without either of these problems, but my luck eventually runs out after several hours. Also, if I try to operate while my laptop is not plugged in, I would be lucky to even get past the welcome screen without freezing. I've had this problem when I first got the laptop, but it would only freeze about twice a week. It runs fine in safe mode though, and I know it isn't spyware or malware related because I did a complete system reformat and the problem still persists.
I ran the hard disk check, memory check, run-in and startup checks, basically every scan available, and passed with no errors. I reset the BIOS to default, updated to the most recent which is F.49, upgraded to Windows 7, reset the CMOS by removing the RTC battery for awhile and replacing it after 10 minutes, I think I've probably tried just about everything.
I copied the information from the crash dump just in case it could give more useful details. Thanks in advance for any help provided.
"An expected clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor in an
MP system within the allocated interval. This indicates that the specified
processor is hung and not processing interrupts." This message makes me suspect that it may be a problem with my processor, but I want to be completely sure.

SOURCE: hp dv7 1245dx fan is making a loud noise. how do
If it's anything like my dv7-1130us, it's quite a job.
I picked up a new fan for around $20 on ebay. That's the easy part.
The fan is pretty much the first thing they put in when they build the laptop. You have to take pretty much every part out, including the motherboard before you can get to it.
I couldn't find the service manual for the 1245dx, but I would assume it's about the same as the 1130us. There is a service manual for that on HP's website and it will tell you step by step.
It took me about 1 1/2 hours from start to finish.
