Unless you know how to solder go to a repair shop ,but it sounds like you are losing your high voltage filament going to tubes- poor solder connections will cause this.

I have a Sony KP-48S65 48" Rear Projection Television that the pic just flashes on and off. No error codes are showing. Sound is fine. Any ideas on a cause?

Absolutely. Sony's Trinitron tubes exhibit this failure when they begin to lose gas charge. Translation: THE CRT PICTURE TUBE HAS GONE BAD. Very sorry!
It is a VERY old set, and I'm certain it has brought you hours of good service.

Sony KP 48S65 no picture good sound

The blinking red light should happen for 15 seconds when set is turned on--set is looking at the 3 picture tubes to see if voltages are all there--if not it does not turn the tubes ON.

Going to be a shop repair unless you get a older tech to come to home to try to fix it. Considering age of set it may be time to replace it?

Sony KP48S65 sound works but picture does not work

I have a suggestion (this is a older set): unplug set, remove back cover.

There is a metal channel V shaped that runs left to right above the boards and just below the 3 large lens---look to see if any white residue trailing down from the lens/tubes into the channel-------GLYCOL.

If see any signs of liquid (even a little) do not touch it--toxic stuff and if it got onto the boards below the set is finished.

Sony KP-48S65 48 in. Rear Projection: fine tune convergence

you will have to go in the service mode. be careful as you could damage the tv if wrong settings are changed. with the tv off push on the remote display 5 vol+ power. now hit the 1 button until you see pje fdis on the upper left. now push the 9 button to enter convergence. you should now have a cursor on the screen. usr the 3 button to switch colors. use the directional pad on remote to move the cursor and the enter button in the center of dir pad to select or deselct a point in the screen. push muting and then enter to save convergence. now restart the tv and all done
