What is the best way to clean the fabric on the First years carry me near bassinett? It seems that the fabric does not come off.

You don't need to replace them, because fabric doesn't wear away hardened steel.

When was it last cleaned, lubricated, adjusted and timed? They need doing every couple of years whether you use the machine or not.

please read the instruction menu for oiling area. a small plastic bottle singer oil can be purchased at joanne fabric shop or any department store carries fabric. if you can't find the menu booklet, a drop of oil should be enough on all moving mechanism. don't over do it. best way is move the pulley where the belt is attached. see the movement for all moving mechanism. then one drop oil should be enough. be sure clean out the dust in general are by using vaccum cleaner before lubricating the macjine. do not oil the belt, otherwise will lose friction and slip when sewning. hope this will help. bob

They're buttons hidden right at the base of the handle on the inside under the fabric. just push those down. I had a hell of a time myself...lol.

Open the drawer and pull the little 'hat' off its post in the fabric softener compartment. Clean away softener residue.

if you use fabric softener. i recommend you slow it down...alot. an appliance guys nightmare is just that. inside fabric softener, is wax. your lint screen may look clean. but run it under hot water. ive come across many a lint screen where the water will simply not go through the screen, even though it appears to be sparkly clean.

I got this second hand and it had a ton of icky little stains on it. I cannot believe a baby bassinet was made without a removable cover!
I sprayed Shout on the stains and soaked it in the tub with HOT water with 2 cups vinegar and 1/2 cup of Borax washing powder (baking soda works well too) I scrubbed the fabric w/ a soft brush and swooshed the loose fabric around in the water. Then I rinsed it in hot water and more vinegar to remove any soaps. Then I towel dried the fabric and set it up in the tub w/a fan on it ( I cannot leave it outside as I have 2 outdoor kitties) I did this at the recommendation of the nice woman who runs our local dry cleaner. It turned out clean and bright and totally stain free! You may want to wrap the handle in Saran Wrap and of course DO NOT submerge it completely. I did this and the light/music feature was dry and still works.

While installing the bassinet fabric set onto the bassinet/seat frame, there are two Velcro straps that hold the bottom portion of the bassinet fabric onto the vertical connectors that attach to the chassis. You can find these if you follow the vertical connectors up from the ground (if the bassinet is sitting on the ground). They should be about 2 inches from the bottom of the bassinet on both sides. These Velcro straps hold the bassinet fabric onto the frame so the bassinet does not tilt. If these are fastened properly, and the bassinet is still tilting, you can take a photo of the problem and email me at [email protected]. I will take a look at the situation and try and help more.
