Plastic piece in front of the cartidge prevent cartridge removal

  • Anonymous Apr 30, 2012

The cartridge latch and the plastic locking piece are different. This printer is inconsistent about lowering the locking piece to allow cartridge replacement. Very frustrating.

Please have a look at this support tutorial. I think you will find that the plastic piece is the cartridge latch which holds the ink cartridges in place.

The instructions tell me to lift the lid, but I don't know how, it seems to be locked, is there something underneath I need to push or pull. I need to change the ink cartidges

On this particular printer there is no locking mechanism to access the ink cartridges. In order to open the cover, use a single open hand and place your fingers just underneath the screen on the front, and pull upward. The entire scanner piece should raise and a plastic bar on the right-hand side will lower down to prop it open.

If you're having a lot of trouble opening it, you may want to check around the sides of the printer to see if there is any tape leftover from when the printer was packed in its original box. When they ship a printer it is always covered in tape to make sure that nothing falls open or breaks before it's delivered, and there may be a piece of clear (almost invisible!) tape left over preventing the printer from opening.

Once it's open, the ink cartridges should come to the middle. Press down on the small lever on the print head (the ink cartridge holder) to pop the cover open so that you can install the cartridge.

Hope this is helpful!

Load ink cartridges

Lift top lid, then scanner plate. Cartidges should automatically move to position. Gently push down on front of old cartridge to release it. Peel plastic tab frm back of new one(s). Put new cartridge in with front at downard angle. Lift front until new one snaps into place. Close lids.
Hope this helps

I replaced 2 cartidges. When I replaced the magenta the printer kept doing fine. When I replaced the black 20 minutes after the magenta it doesnt recognize the cartidge and I put another black cartidge...

Make sure there is nothing between the print cartridge and the place where it goes. Make all the plastic is removed from the cartridge. If you have a can of air, blow out the cartridge area.

Ink cartridges

you replace them one for one. There is a piece of tape over the new cartridge nozzle that must be removed first though. It should say on the tape or compare new with old.

Removal or moen shower cartridge - plastic tab seems to be keeping the cartidge from being removed -- only get cold water, no hot

Once you have removed the U shaped cotter pin whis is brass in colour. Use a pair of plyers and hold on to the brass stem. you will need to pull fairly hard to remove. If you have the white or black stem loosening knob which comes with the replacement cartridge you can insert that into the brass cartridge where the plastic sides of the cartridge are showing. Turn your plastic konb clockwise to loosen the cartridge and then pull out.

Changing the ink cartidge on Epson R300

The strip should have a yellow tab to pull on.. Check on the bottom of the cartidge and see if you can see a thin piece of plastic covering the pins. If not then the cartidge did not have the protective covering and could possibly have dried out.. Return it to the store and get a replaement.

Installed black print cartridge will not print now?

nope, there should be no tape on the cartridge. This is preventing the ink from coming out.

stars-5-0._v47081849_.gif Masking Tape Gives TN-350 Toner a Second Life, August 25, 2008 By C. MACPHAIL "cmacphail3"drop-down-icon-small-empty-arrow._v13355991_.gif
After the "Toner Life End" message appears, it refuses to printeven one more copy. Offensive...until you show it who's in charge.

Remove the cartridge and find 2 clear plastic port holes, one oneach side. The printer shines a light through these to decide when toshut you off. But it's too sudden and too early.

Cover one or both windows with a small piece of masking tape. I get about 3400 copies per cartridge instead of 2400.
