I have lost the AM antenna. Where can I source one as I have no AM reception ?

The Proton has an NTSC analog tuner and also an ATSC digital tuner. Have you tried switching or changing the SOURCE inputs?
You may also have to use the scan button to have the tuner "find" the channels for you once you determine that you have selected the correct source for the antenna.

You are in somewhat of a fringe area and subject to the vagaries of proper reception. Hopefully you have a good outdoor antenna mounted as high up as possible. You might also consider adding an antenna amp to the downlead to boost up the signal.

Digital signals are not as strong or robust as analog ones and good reception can be thwarted by tree leaves in the path of the signal to your set!!!!!!!!! You should have as clear a line of sight to the transmitter as possible. Relocation of antenna is also another possibility.

If you are in a city you might pickup all you need with an inside antenna, but for better reception put up a mast on your house and hook up a UHF / VHF antenna. You may need to put on a rotor to point the antenna to the source of the signal. Or if you know where your source of the signal / channels you want to pick up. Point the antenna that direction and have someone watch the TV until you get your best signal.

Any car stereo shop should have what you need. Might be a special antenna adapter for certain vehicles.

Some devices specify a optimum handling angle for best satellite reception. For example, my old Nokia N82 phone used to work best on a 45 degree angle!
