I had the same problem. Deatache the mute wire. That is for cell phones. I think it is the brown wire but I cant be sure. Look over the wiring diagram and it will say Mute. Don't wire this wire in.

Hi, My Denon RC-1154 stereo has suddenly stopped working, it gets stuck on the initializing part - it gets to 2/4 connecting.... on the internet radio and freezes and so you can do anything with it? How...

follow this test and fix it. God bless you

The speakers are not connected properly. Check the speaker connections. The Mute function is activated. Turn off the Mute function. The volume is turned all the way down. Turn up the volume. Neither set of speakers is selected (if unit has A/B buttons to select sets of speakers). Press either A or B to select a set of speakers. Both sets of speakers are selected, but only one set is connected (if unit has A/B buttons to select sets of speakers). Press the appropriate button to deselect the speaker outputs which are not connected. The receiver is set to TAPE MONITOR (if applicable). Turn off TAPE MONITOR mode. Headphones are plugged into the main unit. Unplug the headphones. The source selector is set to the wrong source. Select the proper source. The impedance of the speakers is less than the rating for the system. Use speakers with the correct impedance rating.

Error saying MUTING LV 0

Hello da_redhot_su,

Make sure that the "MUTE" button on the upper left of the volume control is operating properly. Sometimes a button will get stuck.

If that does not work, there's something wrong internally and you need to take the receiver to your audio dealer for repair.

Hope this helps.

I AM GETTING VERY LITTLE SOUND FROM THE SYSTEM

When did this start? What happened just prior to that?

Turn the volume DOWN for any further analysis. If it isn't loud enough to hear well at 1/4 volume, cranking it to the stops will not resolve it AND when you finally find the misplaced switch you may launch all of your speaker drivers right out of their cabinets.

Do you mean the MUTE button does not CHANGE the volume? It sounds like you're muted already and it doesn't UNmute. Is MUTING lit on the display?

Does it happen with all sources? Use onboard FM to troubleshoot as it can't be connected wrong.

Onkyo TX-SR705 Muting Problem

if what Dark_Orbit said does not work try doing a master reset by ressing and holding the dvr/vcr button and stand by button simultaneously. This would erase all your assignments so you would need to reassign all your sources hooked up to your onkyo.
