Try this first: Be sure your using HE laundry det. only use the recommended amount on the bottle, I use the liquid, the less the better, I use the least amount.....To much soap left in clothes can cause mildew and stinky smell, also I recommend using a fabric softner, it helps to remove the soap....and smells good....also use a good washer cleaner, I use Affresh, they come in tablets, go to www.affresh.com and put in you zipcode to find where you can purchase it in you area......make sure after a load is finished that it doesn't sit in the tub with the lid down for long, removing the laundry promptly will also help with stinky laundry........use the Affresh at least once a month.......hope this helps you

Direct drive whirlpool washer has electrical odor and stops.

the burn odour and stoppage an electrical fault and coupled with a 20 amp circuit breaker tripping indicates a motor fault
Capacitors are tested with an capacitance tester and not an ohm meter as ohms is a resistance and not capacitance reading
When breakers activate it indicates a massive short or current draw and the problem could be in the windings of the motor
could be water getting into the motor at times causing the intermittent problem
I would suggest that you call in a service technician or an accredited electrician to check out the machine properly

Odor inside the machine

Hi,

Odor in the machine or clothes is a common problem with front loading machines that use a small amount of water. Fortunately there is a solution. There is a couple of cleaning products out there that work great to help this.

- Affresh
- Smelly Washer

They can be found where you buy detergent. I have found the Affresh to work the best but have heard great things about Smelly Washer too.

Here is a link to a page I put out that tells a bit more. Let me know if this was helpful to you.

Thanks

Terrible foul odor

run the machine as you were doing a regular load of clothes but do not put any clothes in it and use six cups of baking soda in place of any other soap.

This will clean your machine and get rid of the odor.
