Look on the back of your TV find out what input your satellite is plugged into ...right it down. On your remote find the Input buttom and select the same one as your inputs from your Satellite. turn off the TV and the satellite receiver...Wait 30 seconds. Turn the satellite receiver back on..wait 2 minutes...turn the TV back on.

Gps singal lost

Often, when your GPS is in a "covered" area ... e.g. inside a building, in a tunnel, under a bridge, amongst / under tall buildings, etc... when there is no open space (directly) between your GPS and the satellites, your GPS will loose its satellite signals. If you're in such locations, try to find some "open space" and wait a bit for the signals to be picked up again.
Another common reason why the GPS doesn't get signals, or doesn't get the signals quickly, is because the "latest" satellite positions (locations) have not been updated in your GPS. If/when you connect your GPS to your computer (e.g. using HOME ) and download the GPS satellite (QuickFix) location information, your GPS will have the most recent locations of the satellites in your vicinity/region. With this information, your GPS can pick up the signals more quickly ... instead of having to search/scan around to find the signals ... which can take a bit more time. While your GPS is searching for the satellite signals, it shows the "signal lost" or "no GPS signal" message.

Had a lightning issue the other night and now my Vizio tv will is not able to find satellite signal. Netflix works and can pick up Wi-Fi signal .....there is a good picture but it says searching for...

If it says "searching for satellite" the problem is in your satellite receiver, not the TV. The TV is working. Its showing you the signal coming from the sat box. The sat box is the tuner and is responsible for the sat signal. The "searching for satellite" is a common problem after lightening issues. If you have multiple sat boxes, then swap this one with another that you know works. If this is your only box, call your provider as it means the dish LNB or the sat box was damaged by the lightening. Also have the wiring checked for bad grounds due to an improper install.

Whenever I use location function using GPS, the phone just hangs. Any solution?

  • This may not fix the problem but here are some tips that will help. When it is "just hanging" it is trying to receive a satellite signal. These are helpful tips to receiving that signal.
  1. Make sure you are outside and in the open. This is a phone and while it has GPS functions you have to be in the most optimal position.
  2. GPS units that work well have an antenna made to receive satellite signals faster than the phone antenna.
  3. Make sure you are standing still and not driving or walking fast. You have to give the satellites time to lock in on your position.
  4. Bad weather or even an overcast can effect satellites transmissions.
  5. Satellites move around and sometimes they are temporary a bit out of range.
  6. If a signal is not found try again a bit later and see if the satellites signals are being received better.

Dish Network 322 will not work both TV's at the same time. If TV1 is on it works fine, but TV2 says aquiring satellite signal. If TV2 is on it works fine, but TV1 will say aquiring satellite signal. Both...

Hello! Dan Busa with Dish Netywork here intermittent signal loss like that is usually caused by some sort of glitch a hard reset ( unplugging it for ten seconds ) will usually resolve this. If your signal strength is at or above 80 that should be fine, but keep in mind you need good signal strength on both the 119 and 110 satellites ideally you should be at 70 .

No satellite signal

Some vehicles have a coating in the windshield that can interfere with the GPS unit receiving the satellite signal. It is not the unit's fault. You may need to purchase an external antenna to allow your unit to work inside your vehicle. These are available at www.garmin.com or at your local GPS retailer.

Loud High pitched noise

That's interference from some microwave transmitter on a tower. The interfering signal is covered up by a strong satellite signal. When you lose the strong satellite signal, then the ground-based microwave signal takes over, which your receiver trys to play back. (It's an unintelligible encrypted signal)

Is there a tower with a big "drum" pointing in your antenna's general direction? Are there "stunned" (or dead) birds in your parking lot from time-to-time? Your antenna must be moved to a different part of the roof, or even relocate it to the side of the building where you have direct line-of-signal to the satellite.

Hope this helps!

MENU PICTURE ON TV BUT NO CHANNELS

This is a problem with weak signal strength, You will need to find a better place to put your television so it can receive enough signal to operate correctly. If this does not solve the problem, you will need to check the satellite box for problems with receiving the signal from the satellite. You may need help from the satellite company to check the signal strength output and input levels to make sure its working properly. I hope this information helps you solve you problem with the loss of satellite signal in your television. Thank you for using FixYa and have a nice day!
