Any malfunction associated with a blinking redlight usually indicates a
circuit problem or defective component. Unfortunately, the days of
taking off the back cover of your TV and replacing a defective tube or
fuse are long gone. Proper servicing will require troubleshooting
procedures that can only be performed by a qualified electronic repair
facility or professional television repair person. Ask for an estimate
and a realistic appraisal of whether the set can be adequately fixed.
Depending on the age and condition of your TV it may not be cost
effective to repair.
I have just fixed my own LG 26lc55 flatscreen.. with the problem of the red light is on and when i turned on the tv, nothing happened not even back to the redlight.. Solution-- take off the back panel, in the middle there is a brown " plate " with a lot of electronics, one of the black capacitor is burned out. if you look closely at the top you will see one of them is broken " the + on top is open " in my case " maybe all ", it was a 3300 uf, 105 degree, 10 volt capacitor, i took it of bought a newe one at a electronic store " 3 $ " and put it in. took 10 minutes and my tv is now working.. BY THE WAY, i could not find the exact capacitor, so i bought a 3300uf, 105 degree, but 16 volt. and it works like a charm.. REALLY HOPES THIS WILL HELP YOU..!!
Good Day, msteaz;
Not sure what the light is doing but try to reset the TV by unplugging from the A/C outlet for 5 to 10 minutes. If no fix come back with Model & brand.
Good Luck, big Irish.
