Is there any way of copying from HDD to DVD without having to watch the whole programme? The only time I can watch something else while copying from HDD to DVD is when I have it on Fast copy, and then it only goes on fast copy if the disc has more space than the programme. My average programme is about 1hr 30mins, and I have to endure the whole thing, and the DVD copies really slowly. My HDD recorder is set to SP at the mo (was XP) and mostly I have to record in SP as XP only makes the disc 1hr 1min long. What am I doing wrong and it takes sooooo long, in fact the timing of the whole length of the programme to record. I am currently using 16x discs, whats the best way please, the manual says nothing about it? Thank you sooooo much , Gillian
You can use FAST recording only when the recording fits as it is to the dvd disc.
If you recorded in XP mode and it's 75 minutes, it won't fit because only 1 hour fits to dvd disc in XP. If you had recorded in SP mode you could fit 2 hours using FAST recording.
I do my recording at night while I'm asleep and then int the morning it's ready to watch...
Hi. I have this machine and it will only fast transfer if the original hdd recording has NOT been edited (i.e part deleted/divided/combined). This is also in the manual p51/52.

i have the same problem ive not seen the fast mode option in the menu yet and it takes well over an hour to record a dvd any advice on getting around this
