Duplex Registration Hi, Does anyone know how to get duplex registration marks to line up. Am currently trying to print a book on duplex but the registration marks don't seem to fall on top of one another. I have got the registration setup from side to side but the centre marks are about 2mm out of register. I have set registration vert. but I can't find a horizontal setting, which I need to complete the job. eddie66

Hi, Your printer have problem with drive Clutch. To match grease. You have to dismantle the clutch and clean them. This is typical defect of SCX 4838, 4824. Cheers !!! :)

You may need to tell word you want your printer to flip on the short side and not the long side. With my Canon printer I get a drop down menu IN WORD (not printer setup) that gives choice of: print one side; print two side flip on long; and print two sides flip on short.

Check the duplex motor that feeds the reg roller shaft - in the front of the duplex unit. I found one that was loose, when I opened the front duplex cover and moved the motor, the screw fell out! The motor gear and drive gear were not touching. Good luck

some of the oki's & hp's wont duplex on the network without a print server, know it's a shot in the dark but is it connected to a print server or directly to the network.does it give any errors or just fail duplex and comes out single sided?

Some of the rollers inside the printer have becomes slick with paper dust on the surfaces of the rollers. There is a printer cleaner paper available at most office supply stores and online. It is sticky on both sides. You run a sheet through the printer a couple of times and it removes the dust from the rollers. In your case, run the paper through the duplex unit too.

In the Printing Preferences window, on the Page Setup tab, you have already selected Duplex Printing and Automatic. If your book is to be bound on the long side, you should have 'Long-side stapling . . ' selected in the window below that.

If that is what you have selected and the pages are printing wrong, try the 'Short-side stapling . . .' option.

do you have duplex installed ? if you trying to copy duplex originals, you need duplex feeder.. in main displey the left tab is dupleks printing, if you have there options 1 -1; 2-1; 1-2; 2-2 then you have a duplex installed and you can copy/print duplex. also in driver menu there is a option duplex, wath you have to choose if you printing.

Hi the blurring maybe down to the machine needing a color registration. Press the menu button then press either the up or down arrow to Maintenance press enter or # the using the up down keys again select color registration enter or # then print registration sheet once printed select M Y C or B and input the number that is on the printed sheet that corresponds to the straightest line. Once you have done this exit and try printing.

If that doesn't work then within the driver on the computer under printers and faxes right hand click on the printer select properties. Within properties you will be able to change the graphic mode please try this.

The fuser unit will need changing as they only have a life span there are no benefits to resetting as you will need to change it anyway. If you do not change the fuser then it will break leaving you with a bigger problem.
