Please use the following steps: 1. Remove the router and connect it directly from the pc to the modem. 2. Power cycle: turn the modem off and then the computer for 30 seconds, then turn them both back on, modem first. 3. Check you internet connection to see if it working. 4. If it working, connect the router back up. If it not working contact your ISP for dsl support. 5. Once the router is connected, release/renew the ip address. Go to the dos command type ipconfig/release press enter. Then type ipconfig/renew. Check your ip address, you shouldn't get an ip address starting with 169. If you do, this mean you have a problem with the router getting an ip address. 6. Check you internet connection after the release/renew
1.Log into router 2. Verify wireless router name( on the computer) >>> ( on/off) 3.Note router name you are connecting to. 4.. Check the laptop do ipconfig /all to see current IP addresses. 5. command prompt type this
start iexplore(default gateway address) and hit enter...you will see the settings page of your modem.... go ahead and disable firewall and enable dmz for your ip address... also forward the ports that are necessary for your gaming device...

Are you able to get into the router configuration somehow? You need to open ports on the router, for the xbox to not be moderate. Let me know the model router you have. If you like I could connect in to your computer remotely and give you a hand with it.
i assume that you're not prompted with the log in screen. if so, you need to check if your computer is properly connected to the LAN/ethernet port of the router (Note: you need to use a hardwired computer if you want a stable connection while checking your wireless settings) and if it has a valid ip address which shoud be within the subnet of the router's ip address (Note: by default the router's ip address is 192.168.1.1 and "admin" is the default username and password)
if you're not sure of the current ip address of the router. go to command prompt and type ipconfig. it'll list there the default gateway which is the router's ip address.
now if you have checked that the computer has a valid ip address and it is properly connected to the router but you can't still access the router's page, there could be a program that is blocking the connection. try to disable any firewall or any antivirus programs installed on your computer.
hope this'll help you. you can click here for the manual if you would like to read some more about the router.
it only hands out private ip addresses. they typically start with 192.168.x.x.
in the setup of router make sure and change all default values for Administration (router username/password) and also change the default IP Address of router to whatever you like, e.g router ip can be 192.168.1 - 249.1
