Push choke to run???then not use on a all ready warm engine you mean you push the GAS lever ? remember a choke can work as a throttle for the engine. it can have a double function if your electric start contact is damaged you can use it to stop the running engine also.
How long you are owner of the machine , read the manual about it !
If before it worked good on this kind of proceedings as described ? then if you mean you push the gaslever to run Try it to do it again without the airfilter. I THINK YOU HAVE An AIR problem by carburator if its so clean the airfilter if its not to old. or replace
You can use for short time the choke in most cases minimize use of the choke short not more then 2 times max you pull.or electric start.
AND very important control in any case allways for THE RIGHT OIL level !!
If the engine is warm(hot) do not use the choke forget it it has no use. control your spark plug electrode i think you will find the cause.
Press primer bulb 6 times
Move throttle lever to start position
Move choke lever to full choke position
Pull starter rope sharply until engine attempts to start, but no more than 5 pulls.
Move choke lever to half choke position. Pull starter rope sharply engine runs. If engine hasn't started after 5 pulls, repeat all steps above.
After warming up for 10 seconds, move choke lever to run position.
Manuallib.com has a manual for this model available for free download
You have probably fouled the spark plug (got a heap of black carbon on it) remove the spark plug wash in some petrol then use a wire brush vigorously brush between the contact points on the plug then reinstall. & lastly don't forget to push in the choke when you get it fired up next time.??
I am not familiar with your model but general rules are as follows. 1 - make sure that the gas'oil mixture is the right ratio and that the fuel is not stale. 2 - Depress the little rubber primer bulb 4-6 times, or until yor see little bubbles through the bulb. 3 - Rotate the choke lever to Full and pull the starter cord until the engine tries to start. 4 - Rotate the chole lever to Half and pull the starter cord until the engine starts.5 - After the engine warms up, rotate the choke lever to Run or Open so that the engine runs smoothly.
Typically: 1. Press primer button 6-7 times until you see fuel flowing 2. Engage the choke lever to full choke /--/ pull cord 3-5 times until engine begins to start 3. Move choke lever to 1/2 choke and pull cord 2-3 times until engine starts - - allow to warm up (about 30 seconds) and move choke lever to no choke / / / 4. If engine does not start, repeat 1-3 If engine does not start, repost with more detail. Thanks! :)
First, make sure that the gas mixture is correct (gas and oil mixed in the right proportion). Next, press the primer bulb 3-4 times, turn the choke lever on to Full Choke, and pull the starter cord until the engine seems like to wants to start, but dies. Next, switch the choke lever to Half Choke and start the gas trimmer, giving it gas by pulling on the trigger. Once it has warmed up fully, you may be able to reduce the Half Choke to No Choke, although my 20+ years of experience with dozens and dozens of models tells me that many trimmers run better, although smoking slightly, when you keep them at Half Choke. One last tip, when pulling the cord, try pushing the trimmer away from you with the opposite hand at the exact same time that you are pulling the starter cord--the equal and opposite push-pull technique may sound like something from karate (and it is, in a way), but it is really helpful when trying to start trimmers. Best of luck, Bill
PS: Check you owner's manual (at home or online) for the proper gas/oil mixture. Empty any old gas out and replace the spark plug, if required.
that's not a choke lever, it's used as a speed control on some models. the two springs are attached to the governor rod, which is attached to an "air vane" governor - on these engines, you need to keep the gas tank fairly full at all times, the dip tube on the carburetor rides up off the bottom of the gas tank, if fuel level goes lower than this tube, it won't pull any gas to the intake - from your descriptions, though, it sounds like the diapragm between the carb and gas tank has "curled". briggs had a service flash on the problem and since it's new, you should take it to a shop that does briggs warranty work - it should be covered under warranty
First the chain should be tightened properly before starting. When you pick up on the chain midway of the bar it should pull away from the bar about 1/4". The proper mix of oil & gas in the fuel tank & Oil for the chain in the oiler tankk is needed, If so, locate the on/off switch & turn it to "on". Pull the choke lever out. Depress the throttle trigger & engage the latch for the trigger. With the saw held firmly in place, pull the starter rope until the engine hits. Then move the choke to half & pull till it cranks. move the choke lever to the run position.
hey pete
This is easy, prime bulb 5 to 7 times with choke lever full out. Pull string, once engine starts turn off choke and pull string again. ( throughout process do not pull trigger )Engine should start, let it idle 30 seconds, then finally pull trigger to rev up engine.
