Keep in mind that I dont have the watch in my hand... :-)

If this is an authentic Breitling...

You should have 2 buttons on the right with the crown between them. The crown screws down so you need to unscrew it before you attempt to set! Once unscrewed with gentle pressure pull the crown out. There should be 2 clicks, pull to 2nd click or furthest distance from case. That should be the time setting mode. Turn clockwise until the date changes then set your time. To change the date push back to the 1st click and that should be the date set mode. One direction will be for day and the opposite will be date. I believe that if you pull the crown back to 2nd click and push your buttons that should change the subdials for chrono. You might need to push both buttons at the same time.

Ive set Breitlings before but they arent a common watch we see. Most people dont use the Chrono so if the directions dont work for setting those then I wouldnt worry too much about it! Not many people are going to notice those. :-) Also be so very careful if its a real Breitling as they are a very expensive to fix! :-)

***DONT FORGET TO SCREW THE CROWN BACK DOWN OR YOU WILL GET WATER INSIDE THE WATCH!***

Read the manual.
No Seriously, go to and AD and get the manual.
Please bear in mind the Date Change mechanism is already engaged between 9pm and 3am, if you atempt to change the date during this period is will damage the watch requiring its return to Breitling for repair. Over £200 guaranteed.

Always ensure its not between 9pm and 3am before changing date either by setting the time forward or using the quick date change mode.

And seriously, read this section of the manual carefully.

Good luck.

You really should send it to Breitling via an authorized dealer. Breitling will be able to ensure the repair meets their standards including waterproofness.

I have a Breitling SuperOcean A17360. How does the rotating bezel work and how does one use it?

The bezel rotates (manuall) so that you can set the time you have to dive, next to the minute hand. Then as the minute hand rotates, you can see how long you have left before your oxygen runs out.

I bought a Breitling Superocean Chrono (A13340) from "Sakal" duty free shop at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv Israel on 9-12-2010. The "attestation de chronometre" certificate number...

One other note.

The COSC number generally refers to the movement number not the case number.

Inspect the hang tags that came with the watch.. the movement number may be referred to on one of them... or to the COSC certificate.

Otherwise the only way the movement number can be viewed is to remove the back.

Watches have several numbers.. reference and serial.

A - Stainless Steel

13 - Caliber

3 - Certified

40 - Model (Super Ocean)

The case will have a number the movement and the bracelet.. the crystal etc etc.

When you have the watch serviced.. have them write the movement number down for you.. for comparison.

Good luck!

Brieting Colt chronograph - 12 hour timer will not reset to zero.

The chrono hands can be set by pulling out the crown as if the date or time was to be set. With the crown out press the chrono pushers to advance individual hands as required.

Unscrew the crown, (it's water resistant) pull the crown out, 1st click sets mins. All the way out sets seconds.
Push back in when done & screw crown down to keep it watertight.
Do NOT overtighten.

Breitling watch winder rotations requirments

The watch should last 36 hours from fully wound. If your wearing the watch and using a watch winder and its still stopping, you have a problem with the mechanism. Get it serviced. (its probably just a clean and oil req'd)

you're not supposed to change the time at certain times if it is an automatic. I think any time after 8pm and before 4am (but check your manual). Apparently it messes up the mechanism. Maybe that's the issue?
