None of my buttons work except the ON button

I was working with my calculator and I tried clearing a value but the clear button did not work, then I tried hitting any of the other buttons and those wouldn't work either. I tried taking out all the batteries, including the lithium battery and reinstalling them, but still none of the buttons work except the ON button.

Earlier that day I was walking outside with my calculator in my backpack and it was raining really hard, and some water probably got into the calculator. Could that have caused it?

I fixed the problem. I took out all the batteries, including the lithium and let it dry out for a day. Now it works fine.

Every single button works, except for the buttons on that row. I've replaced the batteries and reset the calculator, but still nothing.

Sounds like a possible short to me, But I don't have experience with that cause I have yet to test my calc with water if you know what I mean... The one thing that I can suggest is trying to connect with another persons calc and try the "send OS" command to see if that will reset your calc to a working state. Sorry to hear about the damage though.

I have a TI-84 Plus silver edition. My 3,6,9,), and (-) buttons are not working properly. They only work for the first few seconds I turn my calculator on then all the sudden when I keep pressing one of them they don't appear. Does anyone have any solutions?

HI,
The stat button on my calculator is not working. everytime i pressed it an x appears instead of giving me the edit, calc, and test options. I tried taking out the batteries and reseting it, but that didn't work either.

I bought it used on ebay and it had that problem when i received it so am not sure what cause the problem.

Is there anything else i can tried to fix the problem?

Why is my calculator frozen?

Is the cursor checkered? If so, there is no more space on the entry line. Use the DEL key to shorten it or clear it. Clear the RAM also.

How to fix a none responsive button in hp 35s calculator

Resetting the Calculator
If the calculator doesn't respond to keystrokes or if it is otherwise behaving unusually, attempt to reset it. Resetting the calculator halts the current calculation and cancels program entry, digit entry, a running program, a SOLVE calculation, an ∫ FN calculation, a VIEW display, or an INPUT display. Stored data usually remain intact.

To reset the calculator, hold down the C key and press GTO . If you are unable to reset the calculator, try installing fresh batteries. If the calculator cannot be reset, or if it still fails to operate properly, you should attempt to clear memory using the special procedure described in the next section. If the calculator still does not respond to keystrokes, use a thin, pointed object to press the RESET hole.
The calculator can reset itself if it is dropped or if power is interrupted.

CLEARING the MEMORY

If the calculator fails to respond to keystrokes, and you are unable to restore operation by resetting it or changing the batteries, try the following MEMORY CLEAR procedure. These keystrokes clear all of memory, reset the calculator, and restore all format and modes to their original, default settings (shown below):
  1. Press and hold down the C key.
  2. Press and hold down the R/S key
  3. Press i (You will be holding three keys simultaneously)
  4. When you release all three keys, the display shows MEMORY CLEAR if the operation is successful.

Cant get Y values when i type in X values in table

Hi there,

Well first of all you can try to reset your calculator, just follow the below steps to know how to reset it -

1. Turn off your TI-83 Plus.
2. Open the battery panel on the back of the calculator and remove one of the AAA batteries. Keep this battery handy, as you'll need it again.
3. Press the "Clear" button, and keep it held down.
4. Put the battery back in and turn on the calculator, with the "Clear" button still held down. When the calculator's screen displays the message "RAM Cleared," release the "Clear" button.
5. Remove one of the calculator's batteries again. This time, hold down the "Del" key.
6. Reinsert the battery and turn on the calculator. Release the "Del" key when the screen reads "Waiting...Please install calculator software now."
7. Use the TI Connectivity cable to connect your calculator to your computer. Run the TI Connect software to reinstall the calculator's operating system. If you don't have an up-to-date copy of TI Connect, see Resources.
8. Turn off the calculator and disconnect the TI Connectivity cable. Remove the AAA batteries, as well as the small, circular lithium battery.
9. Wait five minutes before putting the batteries back in. Turn on your calculator.
Hope it helps ..........

Good Luck!!

Thanks

My TI-84 Plus calculator won't work. It won't switch off by itself. When the batteries are reinserted, it says that all RAM has been cleared. When i press the 'ON' button again, the screen clears. but...

The Ram cleared message is normal after you change batteries. When you see this message you press the CLEAR button to erase it. You do not press the ON button again because the calculator is already ON. If you want to turn calculator OFF you press [2nd][ON] (OFF).

On certain calculators, pressing the ON button when calculator is already ON is interpreted as INTERRUPT the current command.

When I turn on my ti 83 plus, I only get a blinking bar on the top left. None of the buttons work, and it says RAM cleared. How do I fix?

Hello,

RAM cleared means that the machine removed all old values stored in variables. And it is wainting for you to start calculating.
Enter any operation
1[+]1 should give you 2.

If the keys do not answer when you press them and nothing shows on screen you the calculator may have to be repaired.

Hope it helps.

Button Problems

happened to me be4, except all my buttons didn' t work. I just did what people do in movies. throw it aroun, step on it, bang it against walls, desks , ect. Then my teacher took it away. The banging cleared all my ram. It was weird, but it started working.

I think the circuit board moved, and i hit it back into alignment.
