I had a similar problem, but no blinking light, only cold coffee. I tapped on the relay (black box on circuit board) and violá.  Red light, hot coffee, and happiness.  The machine did the same thing a couple of weeks after the "fix", and a good slap to the left side, and I was back in business.  My guess is that your switch is bad or sticking.  Good luck.

Breville Die Cast 800ESXL Espresso Machine: Problem... Watery espresso. My machine worked great for a year, then all the sudden, the espresso is watery and the basket where the grinds are is full of water...

Hi,

Personnaly, when I use the big filter, the grinds are dry after the extraction, but for the small filter, it's all soggy. If you look at the documentation, ( http://kitchen.manualsonline.com/manuals/mfg/breville/breville_coffeemaker_product_list.html) they say wet coffee grind after extraction is normal.
But did you change the coffee brand ? Or the grinding level ? How do you grind your coffee ? I had big troubbles once with a commercial grinder at my grocery store, it's when I decided to buy my own Breville grinder.

Good luck,

JF

Water tank vibrates loose

Try some of the expanding foam insulation in a can. Don't use too much as it expands considerably.

Need spare part

If you mean the froth enhancer attachment, you can get a new one at http://www.brevilleusa.com/shop.do?pID=6&productParts=true   They are $15, no tax, no shipping costs. Personally, I just use the wand without the attachment, and place the tip at the surface. I get plenty of froth without the attachment.
Shipping is free for all parts from Breville, and they are quick and efficient. Do yourself a favor and nab some stainless espresso cups while you are at it. They are great. $8 each, and the SS saucer is $4.  Find them at http://www.brevilleusa.com/shop.do?pID=8&productParts=true
Breville products are awesome, and this is a great company.
Hope this helps.

Machine won't turn on.

There is a post with a solution for this with the title: "Machine won't turn on - no power! " - fixmebob has a good solution, but you'll need to be a little tech savvy to perform it yourself. I was able to take the machine apart, but didn't know how to replace a diode. I ended up sending mine in for repair, which ended up being about $55 because I had to ship the machine. But good news is that I'm back up and running. Was a little nervous about shipping the machine, but it worked out fine. If you decide to take your machine to a service center, here's a link to the list on the Breville site: http://www.brevilleusa.com/support/service-centers.pdf

Machine won't turn on - no power!

With the machine facing you, the circuit board is mounted on the left panel. Simply unscrew the grey plastic and you will see it inside a clear case.
The two grey conical inserts are recessed into the machine (next to where water drips out into the coffee), one on each side. Just use a long philip head screwdriver to unscrew them until they drop down.
They hold the top lid in place. Now push the top lid towards you,
pretty easy. Also take out the water tank in the back (the one swing out) to make room to access the circuit board. With the machine back facing you, open the water tank, use your finger to pull the plastic tap. One side of the tank will just drop, and just jiggle the tank out.

Remove the circuit board case, pull out all the wires with a piler,
they are sort of tight, but you can pull them out carefully. Label them so you won't mix them up.

With the circuit board out, I probed around with a multimeter. I found ZD6, a zener diode, part # 1N4749A didn't give me a 0.46V reading. (there is another zener diode with the same part # that gives 0.46V (ZD1). ZD6 is next to two blue electrolytic capacitors. Unsolder ZD6 from underneath and replace it.
It is like 5 cents, definitely not freaking $40.
