To switch between Daylight Saving Time - on or off:
1) Turn on unit - Press the picture of the wrench and screwdriver at the bottom.
2) At the next page, select "System"
3) At the next page, select "Time Zone"
4) Select "Daylight Savings Time" at the bottom to toggle it on or off

It is because the daylight savings time is enabled. you need to disable it and the time will be current to your correct time zone.

You need to resynchronize your GPS unit with 'active satellites':
The easiest way, would be to force your GPS to resynch by setting User/System Options -> Time zone to another adjoining time zone and set set it back to your country/state time zone.

Can you charge the 1440 using a usb to the computer?

For the software version: In the menu go to "Product Information" you will find it there.

If your GPS receiver has power pin port and a USB port the internal battery cannot be charged using your computer. You must use the supplied vehicle power adapter to charge the receiver's internal battery.

If your GPS receiver only contains a USB port it can be charged by your computer however we recommend using the supplied Vehicle Power Adapter.

Charging the internal battery using your computer may take up to 12 hours. Charging the internal battery using he supplied Pehicle power Adapter takes 4 - 6 hours. The receiver can be powered on or off while charging.

the time is automatically set once you choose your time zone and if you observe daylight saving time, you must check that box..

go to the main menu, then system option and click on the time zone tab, then select your time zone and check off the little box for daylight saving time.

How to set the current time.time did not change when we turn the clock back one hour.

either your 1440 was never set to include daylight saving time or the unit was reset at some point.

the time is automatically set once you choose your time zone and if you observe daylight saving time, you must check that box..

Timex 1440 time from 24 hour clock to 12 hour

Hi bowingman,

To use 12- or 24-hour time for your watch, please follow the instructions below.

1. Press and hold the "Set" button for 2 seconds. The "Set" button is on the lower right side.

2. Press the "Date Advance" button on the upper right side. This will reset the seconds.

3. Press the "Change Mode" button on the lower left to set the hour. The hour will flash. Press the "Date Advance" button until the correct hour is displayed.

4. Press the "Change Mode" button again to set the correct 10s unit (first digit 1 or 0) for the minutes. Press the "Date Advance" button until the correct first digit of the minutes is displayed. Repeat this step to set the second digit of the minutes.

5. Repeat Steps 1 through 4 of this section to set the year, month, date and day and whether to use 12- or 24-hour time for your watch.

6. When finished, press the "Set" button (on the lower right) to return to the current time view and lock in your settings.
