My Kenmore HE3 is filling up with water when not being used. Water seems to be dripping where the soap dispenser tray is. How can I fix this?

One or both of the water inlet solenoids is leaking water while the power is off. Open the top to remove the solenoids and also check the soap dispenser problem. Water may be leaking from there if an internal water hose is spraying water into the dispenser. Check your water supply hoses from the faucets to see if they have screens in the ends. You may or may not be able to clean the interiors of the solenoid valves---if not, replace them. Good luck!

You need to replace the water inlet valve. It isn't closing completely when the machine turns off.

However, if the hoses to the back of the washer have their own cutoff, turning them off when you are done will fix it too... you just have to be there when the machine stops.

Why does my Kenmore Elite HE3 fill with water when it's off

The water valves are leaking usually from grit in the seat of the valve. They are a pair and can be easily replaced.

Soap will not dispense

You could have a clog in the housing underneath the dispenser where the water flows through a hose into the tub.
Pull the dispenser drawer completely out.
There is a tab that needs to be depressed to release the drawer and remove it.
Check the opening at the bottom of the housing just inside the dispenser housing opening to see if a small sock or garment is clogging this opening.
Reach down into this opening to see if an item is inside the hose.
This is the normal issue that will cause water to leak out of the dispenser housing.

Wash the dispenser drawer thoroughly with warm water. Make sure that you pull off the siphon covers and wash all siphon holes. This process is described in your owner's manual. Replace the dispenser drawer and try the washer again.

THE PROBLEM YOU HAVING IS A VERY COMMON ONE THAT WE EXPERINCE BACK HOME.YOU COULD HAVE ONE OF TWO THINGS THAT COULD BE CAUSING THAT PROBLEM.FIRSTLY YOUR PRESSURE METER WHICH CONTROLS THE WATER FLOW AND CUTS THE WATER OFF WHEN THE LEVEL IS CORRECT COULD BE FAULTY.SECONDLY THERE IS A PIPE WHICH IS CALLED THE SUMP HOSE COULD BE BLOCKED WITH OLD SOAP AND DIRT THAT COULD ALSO OBSTUCT THE AIR FLOW TO THE PRESSURE METER.HAVE THOSE TWO THINGS CHECKED OUT.GOOD LUCK

The inlet valve will need to be replaced. Its a fairly simple procedure and a pretty inexpensive part.
