You should check custom menu setting 2, and make sure it's set to one of the auto modes. Make sure the lenses you are using are AF-S and not regular AF lenses. The D60 has no autofocus motor, so autofocus only works with AF-S lenses.
I always suggest folks take a look at Ken Rockwell's website also, here's a link to a specific page on autofocus on the D60.
Post a comment here if none of this works and I'll see what else we can do.

It usually shows other signs in addition to not focusing, but sometimes the contacts on the camera get dirty and prevent the camera from "talking" to the lens. You can try cleaning them by using a cotton swab (Q-tip) soaked in alcohol. Take off the lens and clean the contacts (they are gold colored and at the top of the lens mount). Let them dry and then put the lens back on.
Nikon repair is a good option if that doesn't work. They are not too expensive, and you also use their network of authorized repair shops. The list is here: http://www.nikonusa.com/Service-And-Supp...

SOURCE: My Nikon D60 wont auto focus on any of my lenses.
For the D60, make sure you are buying AF-S lenses, not just AF ones. Don't always trust sales people either; I had a guy swear black an blue to me that a Nikkor 70-300 AF lens would auto-focus on a D60... wrong!

Thanks for responding. I did what you suggested and it was already set on an auto focus mode, so that wasn't the problem. I'm considering sending it out to Nikon. Is this a good idea? I don't have a tone of money to just throw at this camera. I need an answer/solution for the least amount of money.
In custom settings menu 12, if AF is set to "on", autofocus is disabled.
