I have a viper security alarm in my 1994 firebird, it was already installed when i bought the car, has no remote, and i know nothing about it, when i changed the battery, the alarm keeps going off and the car will not start , everything is shut down, how do i fix this, or simply disarm this alarm?? someone please help me, i miss driveing my car
Yes the best way is disarm the alarm and put in a Valet Mode To activate the Valet Mode do the following:
There is a push button or toggle switch to disable the alarm (to engage the valet mode). Without knowing where this switch is you won't be able to disconnect the alarm.
1. Put the key in the ignition and turn it to the "on" position. 2. Flip the toggle or hold the push button for at least 5 seconds. 3. The LED. light will stay solid on. 4. Turn the ignition off 5. Release the push button. If you have a toggle leave it alone in step 2
Lock the car Place key in door unlock the drivers door Open it and shut it lock car Press the unlocked 2 times Open all the doors starting with the drivers Then close all the doors starting with the passenger door Lock car Unlock Place key in ignition Don't start it wait 5 mins Turn it off then try to start

That remote can work with both a security system, and a combo unit security/starter.
Best bet is to take the vehicle and remote to your local Viper dealer and they can look the car over and tell you what was installed and help you learn how to use it.
You have to turn off your ignition and immediately press that 'eraser like button'(valet switch) for a second and release it. Alarm will then come out of valet mode and your remote should work, if it's good.
Your alarm should have a button that was installed called a valet. What you want to do is put your key in the ignition turn it to the on position (Don't start it) then with the car in the on position hold down the valet button until the led light on the alarm goes solid and you should here the alarm beep twice. now your alarm will be disabled. To reable the alarm do the same thing.
You have to turn your ignition on and press the valet button switch, to turn off the alarm. Then, you have to use that same valet button to learn the remote to your alarm, following the steps in the installation manual.
Try putting the key in the key cylinder but do not turn it at all. Then try and remote start the car. If it works then your bypass module is bad and needs to get replaced.
