You have to open uo the set and check for 12vdc feeding the backlight inverter circuits, if you do have 12vdc then the inverter circuits may be bad, also look for bad caps. see example of a couple years old failed monitors: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

You still need to replace the caps with stuff leaking out, you may read 12vdc but the meter will not show AC ripple riding on the 12vdc, you need the scope to see that ripple. As far as the inverter board is concerned, there should be one surface mounted fuse, check to see if they are blown, they will be labeled with Fxx. Pictures will help.

i checked for 12vdc at the inverter ,i do have that .
i do have a couple caps that are startin to leak (brown goo on top)but they are in the power supply and i have 12vdc and 5vdc out of it so they are still working.
i have tried to find another inverter online to no avail,any ideas where i might find 1?
inverter is a 4143019500b, only 1 ive found online is at invertercentral.com but the picture they show doesnt look anything like mine ,any suggestions ?

replaced the 3 leaky caps ,now monitor is working fine
