I have it set so that a particular extension rings 3 times before forwarding to another extension (if call is unanswered). On this secondary extension, I want it to ring up to 6 times before the call, if unanswered, goes to the original extension's/user's voicemail. If the call is from an external source, it only rings TWICE before going to voicemail (though, if the call is internal, it works as desired). How can I set it so that external calls behave the same as internal calls (the forward to the second extension rings up to 6 times before going to voicemail)? Thanks!

check under the mailbox set up ( where you created it) for that extension that the extension number of that phone is on that mailbox> in other words, you could create mailbox 221, but assign it to 222. The Gen Delivery box is 100 which is the catch all for transfers that cannot be completed.

Press the FWD/DND button, then scroll through the menu button until the screen shows "FWD No Answer time". Then use the number key pad to change from 000 seconds to 010 seconds (or longer if required). Then exit out of the menu.

The volume control adjusts the handset, hands free, headset, and ringer volume. Someone may have fiddled with the buttons and turned the ringer down enough that it doesn't sound when a call is incoming.

Ok, do you know how to get into system programming?
If you do:
-> first dial FEATURE 985 this will give you the DN(Extn) for the voicemail
-> get into programming
-> TERMINALS&SETS enter and put in the extn that is giving you issues
-> then under CAPABILITIES look for FWD NO ANSWER and put in the DN of the voicemail you saw with the Feature 985
-> hit next for the number of rings you want it to ring before going to voicemail
-> hit next and you can now RLS to back out of programming.
Voila, that set will now goto voicemail.

Sorry can you clairify this question...
-> You need a new extension number for your set?
-> You need a new extension on your set so you can see when they are on their phone?
If it is the first, there are many things that you need first, too much to explain at the moment. But you need to have the password and a template for your phone to make changes.
If it is the second, press:
- Feature * 0 and any button to find out what is on the button, look for an empty button or one that you want to overwrite,
- then RLS,
- press FEATURE * 2
- press the button where you want to add this new extension
- dial the extension of the new person
Voila you are done!
Good luck!
