Before you replace the thermometer, check the probe placement. If its near the door entrance, the lights, or any other source of heat when the door is opened, then it may not need to be replaced.

Hi.. I have a defy upright freezer.. it is currently displaying an error "c2 !". Defy say this is because of the change in outside temp. Is this true, how long is it supposed to last? Many thanks.

If unit is not in a controlled environment yes temp will be confused and will take 24 hour to correct but if outside temp is changed it will do again and again all units designed for controlled temp room not outside in garage or out buildings with no heat or cooling controled room

Where is the thermostate(sensor) located that controls the compressor - or is it the same as the sensor located by the door which show the temp on the outside indicator Thanks

The thermostat sensor is located in the top rear of the interior of the unit, if you locate the dial to change temps on the inside of the unit, the sensor is attached to it, you may have to pull your fridge apart to get to it, but it can be done.

Display screen temp. not matching temp. inside freezer .

most likely the temp sensing probe. Possibly the sensor has been moved from it original position and reading the wrong temp. too.

Red light is on on bottom panel and buzzer is going off. Inside temp is 20 degrees and outside temp is 25 deg

Your cold control is monitoring the temperature of the refrigerator section and is designed to turn off the compressor to keep things from freezing in that section. If it stays cold long enough outside in your garage the cold control thinks its cold enough and won't turn the compressor on. A makeshift closet to hold a little heat the unit generates will probably help.

Does the light on the outside of freezer stay on . I bought a used freezer. It is a frigidaire commercial upright (frost free) Does the light on outside of freezer stay on all the time? I have no manual....

Normally there is a Green light showing that power is on

A Yellow one for fast freeze and a Red one for under temperature

The outer casing is well insulated from the inside otherwise the freezer motor would run none stop without cooling the contents so the temperature of the outside casing will reflect the room temperature not the intenal

My deep freeze outside will not stay cold.

a freezer is just a heat pump . from inside the freezer to the garage . the first law of thermodynamics says heat travels from a hotter to a colder surface . it could just be the cold how much are we talking?

Keeps on running but does stay at correct temp.

The automatic temperature switch probably out of order

Kenmore frostless 19 temp. control knob

i've pulled up the service diagram for it and there's no thermostat or temperature control but there's a limit sensor inside the freezer I'm sure that such sensor is failing and when it defrosts, it stays on to long, and the whole 15 min defrost cycles goes on causing the freezer to warm up, delaying the freezing process. I'm almost sure that the limit is going.

Freezer runs constantly

not necessarily, is it maintaining temp? all food staying frozen? especially ice creams if stored in there. most newer freezers displace the heat generated while cooling the food through copper lines running through sides of unit, helps to cut down on air temp differences between the inside (0 degrees) and outside temp to prevent moisture and possible condensation causing premature rusting of unit
