Mostly Huawei modem has a build in auto-installer.,might your usb, ethernet driver ect. on your pc is not properly installed on your pc. Try to update your drivers provided the CD on your laptop to be to recognized all of the devices you plug-in to your computer.
It's kind of a tough one to search for on Google isn't it? Since Thomson is a very common name, you can't very well just search for "Thomson" without pulling up ever Tom Thomas and Tommy in America. However, your Drivers are here:

I'll recommend you to directly try Driver Detective and let the software
have a free scan to automatically detect & update the missing
drivers. This way things can be much easier & efficient. Also you
don't have to risk install wrong drivers which might cause severe system
issues.
The 'autorun' sequence to run the disc might have been made for older operating systems. But that should not stop you from installing the driver for the 330 IDSL modem.
1. Go to start-> My computer. Locate your G: drive with the disc inside and right click on it. Choose explore and see if this allows you to view the contents of the disc. If there is a generic application labeled setup.exe execute it. If the application loads the driver for you then your in luck. If not then onto #2.
2. Your modem has been out for a while and has new drivers for it. You can always type in a search "SpeedTouch 330 IDSL modem" and download a more recent driver off the internet.

usually with the speedtouch 330s they initally did not like vista, there was a patch that you can get from the speedtouch website, if you can not get the drivers to transfer onto your flash drive, put them onto a cd, or another suggestion is contact your ISP, they may be able to provide you with a new disk or if not push them to get a new modem, say yours has packed up, sounds like either Tiscali, or Homechoice i think that they used them modems, if you threaten to cancel your contract they will bend over backwards for you, lol
