not that big of a deal. likely it is not able to pick paper because the pickup roller is dirty. look at the rollers that come down onto your paper in the tray. peek into it and watch. if it isn't able to grab the paper clean those rollers with a drop of dishwashing soap and a fingernail. scrape at it and you will see the dirt coming off. let it dry and it should be a little sticky still, or tacky. not try it again. it should be able to grab paper now.

If the light is on and flashing: Verify that the correct print cartridges are installed.

Follow these steps:
1. Open the printer's top cover, remove the black or photo print cartridge, then close the cover.
2. Do one of the following:

  • If the light is flashing: Open the top cover, replace the print cartridge you removed, then remove the tri-color print cartridge. Go to step 3.
  • If the light is off: There is a problem with the print cartridge you removed. Go to step 3.
3. Manually clean the print cartridge.
After cleaning the print cartridge, reinsert it into the printer. If the print cartridge status light continues to flash, replace the print cartridge.if the light is on and not flashing. Most likely what the problem is is that it is not picking up paper from the tray. take the tray out and look under the printer and spot the rubber pick up rollers that come down on your paper in the tray. get a drop of dishwashing soap and with your fingernail, scrub at it a bit and get the dirt off of it. then dry it. it will feel just a little sticky. this is what you want to let it grab paper. try it again.

Wont print ready light and alarm light flashing

When the printer "Ready" and "Alarm" LEDs flash as shown, please check the following points:
1.Paper Jam: Clear the paper jam referring to "How do I clear paper jams?"
If the printer does not automatically resume printing, press the control panel button.
2.No Paper/ Misfeed:
-The paper cassette may be out of paper or not properly installed.
-If it is empty, load a new stack of paper into the paper cassette.
-If there is paper in the paper cassette, make sure it is straight.
-If the paper is curled, straighten it before printing. Sometimes it is helpful to remove the paper, turn the stack over and put it back in the paper cassette.
-Reduce the amount of paper in the paper cassette, and then try again.
-Make sure you use paper that meets Brother's recommended paper specifications.
-Reinstall the paper properly, and then press the control panel button. The printer will start printing again.

Power light flashes and won't let me print - HP3650 no paper jam

Go into your control panel, go to your printer, right click it, then choose "Cancel all print jobs". You may also have to uncheck the "Pause Printing" function.
If all else fails, get the cd. remove the printer and reinstall the software after shutting the printer down and start from scratch just like it was new. If neither of those solve it, go to http://www.hp.com and download your owners manual. There you will find a troubleshooting section that will help walk you through what to do. Hope that helps.
