Go to the device manager of the pc, and uninstall the unit. Reboot, and Windows will reinstall the unit. If this does not work the unit may be faulty.
How to get to the device manager:
Right click om my computer, properties hardware tab, in the middel of that screen click on device manager.
People any lcd tv with a white screen cause by the T-con board if you have some experiences you can check with a multimeter the (smd) fuse on the T-con board it is right in de middel on top in the back of the tv. you might have to move some of the boards to get to it. if the fuse is broken replace it with another smd fuse otherwise relace the t-con.
The short answer would be No to both questions, screens are highly technical in their manufacture and as a result make up between half and three quarters of a devices cost of TV's.
It will get worse sadly and end up as scrap or spares, screens do exist but mostly for say monitors or hand type devices (Tablets etc) but most I have seen are salvaged or "new" seconds that failed quality tests in some way.

its sounds like the guns has burnt your yube, when switching of does your tv show a bright circle in the middel, or while watching. Smack your tv on the side while on see if the picture goes away or make a bright circle in the middel, this is caused by a bad solder joint but you wont get rid of the bunt pixels sorry.
