My Kenmore 90 + washer doesn't fill in cold wash/any temp rinse
My washer (Model # 110.28934790 Stock #28934) doesn't fill properly on the cold setting. The dry detergent water fill area on the front right works fine on any temp setting and the area at the back flows normally when set on warm or hot in the wash cycle but that same back area only trickles when set for rinse no matter what the temp. To get the tub filled to rinse, I have to reset the cycle at the beginning (as if I'm starting a new load) and then once filled, I switch the cycle to the middle of rinse and from there it drains and spins fine. Any help is greatly appreciated -- It's making me crazy!

i've found problems with the temp. switch on this washer part number W10184148 and it's around 40 dollars, also on the rinse cycle the washer only uses cold water.what happens when you use just the hot?i had a lady that her water would start to fill and then the water would stop and the pipes in the house would start making a banging sound.if you order the part from http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Switch/W10184148/1468990 repair clinic and if this isn't your problem which i think it is from how you discribe it you can send the part back and get your money back for up to a year.good luck with your washer and next time you buy something and it doesn't work right get right on it
if so, the first thing to do would be to check the screens in the cold water fill hose and the screen in the cold side of the water valve on the back of the machine. if that is not the problem then replace the water valve.
The cycle doesn't advanceWhen the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer. It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.
Hi, Switch the hoses around going to the mixer/inlet valve. I am sure this will take care of the problem.
If not, please let me know so I can assist you further.
The MAH5500 series washers have automatic temperature control functions so the washer can control water temp regardless of water heater settings and other factors. I would say either your definition of "hot" is not truly "hot" (over 110 degrees), or the washer's ability to sense has failed (which would also affect fill temp on "wash" fills also). If someone has worked on the washer recently, maybe they reversed the wiring to the water valves inside the machine? ATC temps are as follows: Cold 70-90, warm 90-110, and hot is unregulated at 110 degrees and up. These are normal temp ranges for ATC controlled machines, and are completely safe for fabrics.
Are you on well water? turn off the cold water to the washer and clean the screen filter out. do not leave filter out. the machine probably has a cold only final rinse so it won't work properly.
When the washer initially fills for the wash, is it only hot water entering the drum? Try switching the water temperature between hot and cold as it fills. If any of them show little or no water getting through, it sounds too easy but check to make sure water supply taps are on, and that the cold/hot fill hoses aren't reversed. Remove the fill hoses and check any of the screen filters for blockage (in the hoses and in the inlet water valve). When the machine stops and waits to fill but all you hear is a hum, it sounds like there is power going to the valve but water is not able to get through it. Good luck!
This is normaly because your cold water inlet soliniode is faulty. If you want to test it set the wash temp to cold and start the machine, It should do nothing. then set it to warm or hot wash and see if it fills with water if so the cold inlet soliniode needs replacing
it will switch from hot to cold and back and forth trying to regulate the temp. You probrbly have more pressure in your cold water line than your hot or vise versa. This will cause it to seem to pulse. Dave www.washermd.com
