Tv shuts off, when turned back on, the green light keeps blinking and tv wont come back on. if you leave off for a few min. the tv will come back on. then the tv will shut off again after a few min.

One of two things...first hold power button while you hold the up button on your remote, this will reset your tv to manufacturer's settings....you could have sleep timer on.....if this does not work, you have to replace the lamp, my tv did the same thing and it happened to be the lamp. Hope this helps, good luck

Sony kf 50e200a screen goes black and sound turns off for min...

TV has gone into "protect mode" to do just that to protect against the damaging failure that has been detected, you will need a servicer to diagnose the failure. Good luck and Merry Christmas!

TV shut off while watching and won't come back on

It seems this is a self diagnostic function. the official sony codes are as follows

  • Five blinks - AKB circuit (automatic kine bias), the timer/standby indicator blinks for about 30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with the video. Check video out, Q705, 732, 761 and other components on the C board, also check Q218, 219, 220 on the A board. In addition, unit could be in IK blanking, try turning up screen slightly.
  • Six blinks - No Horizontal (H STOP), no raster, goes to the blinking self-diagnosis function immediately. Check C515 & 516 and the jungle IC, IC206.
It sounds like you have a video input problem. Have you unhooked all inputs from the TV and tried to power it back on by itself? Hope this helps
