Please check in dark room condition if you can see the light come up in the background of the tv LCD. If you can see light it would be a T-Con board or main board problem. I think those tv had some issues with the T-con board. Search results for ln s4692d
More than likely it is the T-CON board that went bad in your television set. Fairly easy to replace yourself you can buy online on ebay. Search T.V. model # followed by T-CON and one should be available. There are many youtube videos on how to replace step by step. GOODLUCK!
If it occurs on ALL inputs then unfortunately the TV has developed a fault. If it is new, it should be returned for a replacement, do NOT accept a repair at all. Be firm and polite, but get a replacement, this is in "Unmerchantable" condition. Otherwise you should get a "Quote" for a repair, do not allow to proceed with out one.
i will first resolder all ic`s and connections, especiall on the crt board, clean around the flyback at the abl circuits, check for open or changed valued resisters in abl circuit and the video b+ on the crt board (usually 165-200 volts) check also the screen voltage (G2) volts, should be around 250 - 400 volts.
Hello,
I have a question which video inputs are you using for your DVD and Wii connections? The reason I ask is because this sounds like video distortion cuased by noise. If possible can you send a picture of the screen when it has this problem and send which video ports are being used?
If it is noise in the video you may have a saw filter problem, or a decoupling issue. In any event I'll know more once you send those pictures and which inputs you are using for your DVD and Wii.
Thank you,

I had a problem with a Samsung 46 inch LCD and it had audio and dim light but no picture and found out that the logic board toward the top (inside tv) was bad and was no longer available and the only way to fix it was to get the entire display panel (the logic board came with it) It was not costwise to repair. Hope this helps.
