F21 ERROR CODE

It would help to know what brand and model of washer you have. Often you can erase those codes by unplugging the washer and replugging it. AT that point the door may unlock.

Otherwise you can google the error code and the washer model and see what comes up.
You can even read the owner's manual. It ?ƒten has good information in it.

Washer stopped working with error code f21

Generally F21 implies it takes to long to drain water. If you washer is not draining, it will not likely need a pressure switch but just a cleaning of the drain pump filter.

See images below (click image for zoom). If it is draining all the water nad F21 appears, then it likely has a pressure switch failure. The water level pressure switch part #8540224 is located under the main top. It is mounted along the right upper side panel as your standing in front of the washer.

In order to access and replace the water level pressure switch, remove the screws along the back of the main top and slide it back a little and lift it off. You will see the pressure switch (key#23) as shown in the image I added below.

NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before removing the top.

Once you locate the pressure switch, remove the pressure switch hose and wires. I added an image below with the instructions on how to access and remove the pressure switch. Note: There is additional information about the F21 fault code and some other information not pertaining to your fault code in the image below.

Hope this helps (remember to rating this free answer and leave one testimonial).

Bosch classixx 6 1400 machine stopped working during cycle f21 on display

F21 relates to a motor or control board fault.

However, it is also caused by spikes in the mains and can be spurious.

To reset it.

Turn the appliance knob to the off or reset position, 12 o'clock.

Turn the knob to the 6 o'clock position.

Press and hold the spin button.

While holding it, turn the knob to the 7 o'clock position.

Continue holding the spin button for about 5 seconds.

Release the button.

Turn the knob to off.

When your turn it back on it should have cleared the error code

What do you do if you get an F21 code on a Kenmore Elite HE 3t steam front load washer

The F21 error code is an indication that the unit has a too long of a drain out condition. If the control call for the unit to drain & the water does not drain out in 8 minutes or less the unit will stop & flash the F21 error code. I would recommend checking the drain pump & pressure switch circuit.

F21 error code and washer will not drain and spin

I hope that I can help you. I had the very same situation today 9/1/2009. After working on it for quite some time and thinking that I may have to replace the Central Control Unit (CCU) it is back to normal and working just fine.
Our original trouble indication was that the washer stopped somewhere between starting a load and what should have been spinning and emptying. We didn't know what a trouble code was early today...now we know a lot more about the system and how it should work. I called Sears about a tech. coming out to repair it and they quoted me $129.00 service call plus parts minimum. I asked them if the people were experiened and they said that they didn't know who it would be or where they would be coming from and they named four towns/cities where they could be coming from. I don't mind paying for quality service and a super tech, but I decided I wasn't going to pay for just anybody and not knowing if they were experienced or not.
First thing I did was to clean out the drain pump filter. it's located under the bottom front cover. you need to remove the three 1/4 inch screws located at the top of this cover. the maintenance book is located inside this cover also.
Pull the cover out to the front and set it aside. Inside is a large round stove knob looking item. this is the drain pump filter clean out. Taurn it counter clock wise (left) to remove it. You may need to catch some water when it gets loose. I packed three towels under it and saturated all. I found a 8 inch long platic ty-wrap, a plastic flosser, a paper clip, two sheet metal screws, a hairpin, matchstick, two rocks, earring, a foam earplug, .380 bullet, (lead only) and a chemical hand warmer bag along with some messy stuff. I cleaned the filter and inside of same throughly.
That may be all you need to do to get it back working. Put the drain filter back together and the bottom cover on and try it. Good luck at this point...I wasn't so lucky. Mine didn't work and the symptoms didn't change. I went through the book and found nothing to match my washer situation. The code I had was a F21, but the symptoms didn't match. It would not fill the tub and wouldn't start. I found the internal water valves would not operate to let water in...the dispenser motor was stopped in position III and not moving. My symptoms were a combination of code F21, and some of codes F27, F28, F30, and F01.
The book states in many places "Verify CCU operation by running a Diagnostic test or any cycle." I ran the diagnostic test so many times I can do from memory... I still kept getting the F21 display error code.
I finally stopped doing the diagnostics tests and tried something else and it worked. The CCU unit must have been in a situation which it couldn't change correctly.
I unplugged the washer for two minutes per the book. Plugged it back in. Then I attempted to use the washer as if it wasn't broke. I went through each wash cycle and each one failed and gave me the F21 code. Continuing with each cycle...if it failed I pressed the stop button twice and turned the power off. Then I attempted the next washing cycle...each one failed and gave the F21 code.
Then I went turned the washer on and went to the "Drain and Spin" cycle which is the same one used in the dianostic mode...but I didn't enter the diagnostic mode...rather I just pressed the "Start" button. Victory was so sweet! The tub started to turn, the motor for the dispenser moved to another position and it seemed to be better. I let it spin for approximately two minutes. Then I put it into the 'Normal/Casual mode and pressed start. everything worked as it should and the codes were gone. It works just fine.
The CCU wasn't working properly as long as I kept attempting diagnostics, but when I started the "Drain/Spin" mode something in the processor changed and it worked as it should.
I hope this helps someone else. At one point I came very close to ordering a new CCU unit...but kept testing/trying things and am glad I did.
Good luck to you and may the good lord take a liken' to ya'.

Error code F21 - thanks for your help

The F21 error code is an indication that the unit has too long of a drain out condition. If the control calls for the unit to drain & the water does not drain out in 8 minutes or less the unit will stop & flash the F21 error code. I would recommend checking the drain pump & pressure switch circuit.

Clear pump of debris. Tilt machine. Take off front panel. Unscrew large white drain plug. Remove debris.

Unplug from power source...remove front lower panel (3 sheet metal screw wirh 1/4" drive head located on the lower lop of the panel)...open pump strainer (looks like a large stove knob, Turn it counter clokwise, lookout! lots of water will gush out... back flush the pump by filling the outet of the drain hose ( this may dislodge debris that may jam your pump)...re-assemble, plug to power, and turn-on. That will help get rid off the debris.

It can be done if you are patient and able to figure out how the plastic thing comes apart. Good luck!

F21 showing on screen

Take the bottom panel off of the washer and there should be a instruction guide in the washer that will tell you what the error code indicates.

My washer stops in the middle and flashes F21?

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

An F21 error code indicate drain problem. Might you want to inspect/clean the drain system from the filter to catch basin to impeller, pump/valve and drain hose. To do this, the bottom/kick panel ahs to be removed. A bit of a messy job so pls be prepared with paper towels and other absorbent materials.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.
