Dvd players are designed to not allow you to play while driving (for safety reasons).

Whoever installed it in your old car had this feature bypassed.

You need to obtain a wiring diagram for the unit, and find the wire labeled to go to the parking brake.

This wire will either have to be grounded / ungrounded, or powered / unpowered in order to "trick" the unit into thinking that your parking brake is on.

tip

How to watch pyle plts76u car dvd whilst driving and how to bypass parking brake...

If you want to use your dvd player whilst driving then i will tell you the best way to go about doing this but please read these warnings first.

WARNINGS.
1. any work you do at your own risk
2. it highly illegal to use any dvd or telly whilst driving
3. if caught using dvd whilst driving you will get a big fine and points on your license for driving whilst distracted.
4. if you have an accident whilst the dvd player is driving you wont be insured and you will be liable and charged with dangerous and reckless driving.
5. any short due to work carried out can cause you to destroy the stereo and in some cases cars have been set on fire, so if you are unsure what you are doing then please dont go ahead with this work as you could end up in a right mess.

Ok now the warnings are out of the way.

I take it you dont want to watch the dvd whilst driving but a passenger does i dont reccomend this work be carried out if the driver is planning on watching the dvd whilst driving, its not worth the risk its just to dangerous.

How To Bypass The Parking Brake To Watch DVDs'

the best way of doing this would be to get hold of the instruction manual to install this stereo you might get this off the net but if not you can contact the makers and they will be able to send you one for free, just the cost of postage to pay.

Now to actually bypass the parking brake witch dont let you play dvd whilst driving what you need to do is locate the wire that goes to the parking brake now this wire should be a brown wire unless somebody has re wired the stereo to fit other cars, once you are sure you have located the correct parking wire thats brown you then need to remove this wire from the parking brake. Now you need to earth this wire out to any metal on the car and secure it to that metal part this should then bypass the parking brake system for you.
You do this at your own risk you can destroy the stereo and in some cases set fire to the car so if you have never done this type of work before then please leave this to somebody who knows what they are doing.

Take your time, make sure you have the correct earth wire any other wire and you will short the stereo out destroying the stereo and possibly your car, so be warned.

Wont play while im driving

hi, the problem with these dvd players is they have a safety feature that is connected to the parking brake and this means once the parking brake is taken off the dvd player then will stop.

PLEASE READ THIS.
you do this at your own risk keep reading and ill tell you how to best go about doing what you want, if you get caught using dvd whilst driving you will get a big fine and points on your license ok

Its not advised you use the dvd player whilst driving so i cant reccomend you doing any work to it yourself.

If say you wanted it working whilst driving so that a passenger could watch it then their is a way around getting this working whilst driving, if you get caught using this whilst driving you will get a fine and possible points on your license as your not supposed to have any working dvd in the front of the car whilst moving as you will get distracted.

Now the problem you have of getting this working whilst driving is that your going to need to get hold of the instructions that was used to fit the stereo as this will then tell you witch wire is connected to the parking brake once you have this you then need to bypass this wire by either earthing it out if its an earth wire or if its a possitive wire then you would need to wire this into a permanent live feed like the direct live feed into the stereo.
Now you could take the stereo out and see where all the wires go to doing this would then show you witch wire goes to the parking brake you would then need to test this wire to find out if its an earth or live type of wire, to do this you would need to get hold of a multimeter one of these will tell you if its a live or not.
If you find the wire thats connected to the parking brake you should be able to tell if its live or earth by looking at how its connected to the parking brake if its just earthed out then it will be an earth but if it goes to a switch on the parking brake then its more than likely a live wire.

On asking someone about your make and model of stereo it seems the parking brake wire is a brown wire and you then need to remove this wire from the parking brake and just earth it out on any part of the metal of your car this should then let you watch dvd whilst driving.

remember you do this at your own risk its not advisable to use a dvd whilst driving and you are breaking the law by doing this so i cant encourage you to go ahead with this type of work, if you really want to do this then take your time and double check you have the wires correct ok

its not worth taking the risk by just guessing as this could blow your stereo up leaving it scrap so its best this wire is tested.

If you are unsure what you are doing then please dont mess with it as any short will destroy the stereo and it has been known to cause several car fires so if it is a live make sure you use an in line fuse.

It would be a lot safer if you went to the makers web site and see if they have an instruction manual on their if they havent then they will send you one out for free this would be the best option for you.

If you really are unsure and have never wires stereos in before then leave it to someone who knows what their doing they may question why you want it working whilst driving but just tell them you drive a kid around who watches it to stop him being car sick, the sob story usually works

Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance

I have an eonon GPS/DVD/Bluetooth flip up touchscreen car stereo. Navigation works fine; when I swith to dvd or backup camera, unit screen shuts off.

Do you have the PARKING BRAKE ON??? You need to have the wire coming from the back labeled PARKING BRAKE hooked to ground. You also might have a radio damaged during installation. You can email me at [email protected], I am an unauthorized distributer of eonon radios...

Just connect the parking brake wire (coming from the stereo. it's usually a pale green) to chassis ground. But be aware that viewing video while driving is illegal in almost EVERY state!!

MISSING AUX SETTINGS

Hi,
I'm not sure if you're still having this problem... but here's the solution anyway. The stereo has an annoying little safety feature where you can't access the general and system setup menus while you're driving. Not that I'd want to... but there's no reason the passenger shouldn't be able to. Anyway, while the ignition is turned ON:
Put the car in park (if a stick shift, then neutral is fine). Press the foot brake and keep it pressed. Then engage the parking brake and release it once. Then engage the parking brake a second time and leave it engaged. Then take your foot off the foot brake. This unlocks the setup mode from the main menu screen.
Hope this helps!
