Most dvd players go in audio video input not on a channel, you have to change the source. It is usually hooked up with a yellow, red, and white rca plug.

Have older tv, cable ready only. Hooked dvr to it...cable in dvr then to tv, but cant get setup to come in on any station. Tried both E1 & E2, get nothing

You will need to manually tune a new program channel in to the frequency that the DVD outputs at. It will tell you the frequency it is in the DVD manual. It will be Analogue TV rather than Digital TV option on TV so you need to tune in an analogue channel manually. Also make sure you use an antenna cable at 75 ohms impedance rather than a video cable. They look exactly the same but electronically they are quite different and a video cable will not work from RF out DVD player to RF Antenna In on TV.

How do i hook up my rca dvd to my samsung tv its hooked up right but i can'y figure out how to get the tv on the right channel for it to work

This DVD player only has audio and video outputs. You'll need to connect it through one of your TV's A/V inputs, then switch to that input to see the DVD signal.

If your TV doesn't have A/V inputs available, you'll need to connect the DVD player using an RF converter. This takes the audio and video signals from the DVD and produces a channel 3 or 4 output you tune in on your TV. Converters cost around $10 to $20 and are available at Radio Shack or retailers who sell TV's.

Ndt-40 manual

Stick a dvd or video in, press play, then auto/manually tune your new tv. Or simply plug in to AV slot if available.

Tuning a samsung tv to a phillips dvd, a goodmans video and an akura freeview box

It sounds like you are trying to tune in the dvd and video to a free channel on your tv, I would suggest using the scart connection if your tv has one. Scart leads only fit in the one way so you cant go wrong. Scart leads are available everywhere including tesco.
Once the scart leadt isconnection between the dvd and the tv then use the AV1 button on your remote controll and you will get sound and picture in better quality than manual tuning.
