I have an Aprilaire 560 and it isn't working. I

When humidistat is at ouside temperature that may be a lower humidity setting than is in your home. Doesn't sound like there is a problem. If it is too dry in home you can set it above ouside temp to turn on. The ouside temp setting is estimate that you will not get condensation on windows.

Make sure the heat is running during test.Does the pump make noise.The control shoud make a soft click when u turn the knob on/off.

The troubleshooting guide that I pulled up was excellent. Performed each step and found I had no power to the solenoid. Traced and tested all connections and ended up at the power source provided by a transformer in the exterior fan unit. Reconnected, tested, water came forth and I now have my humidifier working again. Excellent site and experts! Many thanks.

Hi check power at transformer / valve on water line could be stuck open clean valve out or transformer holding valve open

My Aprilair 560 turns on and off repeatedly.Making a loud banging sound.Changed my water valve worked 1 day and started agin.

Humidity must be hi enough in the house or Humidistat is not working. Do you any way to check humidity in the house?
If the Humidistat is set as Automatic, try to leave it as Manual.

According to Aprilaire, it is normal for there to be excess water going into the drain pan. However, the drain pan should have a drain line connected to it so the contaminents from the humidifier can be flushed down a drain and away from the unit. (see page 2 Principle of Operation).

They further state that the water valve should only be either fully on or fully shut off and do not attempt to regulate water flow with the inlet supply valve.

I would give the unit a good cleaning of the pan, locate the drain connection and attach a drain line to your unit as is required for proper operation and function/

Sounds like you do not have an orifice in the water line to regulate the water pressure.

check to see if you have 24 volts between to 2 yellow wires coming out of the water solenoid. if you have 24v, then it is still getting energized to run. if it does not have 24v and the water is still running, the solenoid is stuck open. most likely from water deposits. sometimes you can take the solenoid apart and clean it, but probably better off just getting a new solenoid.
