Second request for help as to why my watch keeps losing time.

As I mentioned, my wrist brand new wrist watch started losing time and within a week had lost ten minutes. I took it back tot he store and they replaced the battery. The watch has a swiss movement and is not a Timex. It is a store brand of Skatells jewelery shop. Why is the watch losing time? Could it be me?

You don't say if the new cell fixed the problem. If not then your watch needs to be replaced or repaired. It definitely is not you. If you could stop a watch you could have your own tv series or at the very least be on late night tv demonstrating your prowess.

I have a skagen watch that is losing time. I replaced the battery three times and within two weeks or so the watch is running low. Thoughts?

Your watch needs repair
Before you send it to repair just do that:
PUT IT UNDER SUN RAY FOR 3 HOURS
or PUT IT FRONT OF A HOT AIR (HAIR DRYER) FOR 10 MINUETES

This will be what is called the end of life indicator. There will be 2 or so weeks of life left in the battery,it still keeps time but will soon stop.Use a quality watchmaker to change the battery and ask about its water seal.

The second hand jumps forward every 5 seconds but the watch still keeps time OK.

You need to replace battery.
Q/A from swiss army website.
Q. How do I know when the battery needs changing?
A. In select models, the battery end-of-life indicator signals that the battery should be replaced within two or three days. When the battery is low, the second hand stands still for 2-4 seconds, and then speeds up to the correct time. This indication will last for approximately one week, and then the timepiece hands stand still.

My Wittnauer is jumping every 5 seconds

Your watch is fitted with EOL feature and let you know about insufficient battery power by moving seconds hand by 2-5-second increments. You have about two weeks time to change the battery from the EOL engagement or your watch will start to malfunction or even stop. In this case you will have to reset your watch after battery replacement. EOL = End Of Life (relates to battery only). Jumping seconds hand means it's time to change battery.

New watch is losing 5 to 15 minutes a day

This could be that the battery is slow. Newer swiss watches have a indicator in the movement of the watch that makes the sweep second hand skip every few seconds to indicate that the battery is slow. On regular japan made watches the watch just simply starts slowing down. Your watch could be new but the battery in it could have a long shelf life.

Second hand sweeping five second increments

Yes, it is sign for time to replace the battery. Your watch is fitted with EOL (end of life) device. This device forces the integrated circuit board to move seconds hand in 2 - 5 seconds increments when the battery power level is less than necessary for smooth running of the watch movement. At the same time the timekeeping of the watch is not affected and it will still keep good time for about 2 weeks.

Watch goes slow when wearing it but keeps time when not wearing it Because I started having a problem with an old reliable Acqua quartz analog watch running slow,  I replaced it with a new Timex quartz...

There is nothing wrong with your watch. Probably it's the one measuring heart rate and pulse (heart beats per second).
Use your users manual to set the watch.
By the way: Timex is one of the worst watch producers.

Watch accuracy

it is ok for a new watch to gain or lose more seconds. it takes time for the movement to settle down.
