HP Color LaserJet 2600n Printer Logo

Problem: it's extremely slow on HP Inkjet 2660 printer.

When I clicked on the print button, it took a long time before the printer starts printing the doc. Even when I print the test page, it still takes a long time before the printer even starts printing.

Extremely slow printing

The printer is an inkjet printer. Inkjet printers are slow printers compared to laser printers.

Also the print speed depends on the size of the document printed.
If it is a large photo or file, it will take longer than small notepad file.

Speed also depends on coverage. A page with a lot of it covered in ink, will take longer than a page which is only coverd in ink on a small part.

Also the print speed depends on computer memory and USB cable. Fast cable and a lot of memory mean fast transmission of data to the printer.
Slow cable and small amount of memory (512Mb, or 256Mb or less) mean slow transmission of data to printer

Quicken reports won't print

Go to printer under control panel and right click on the printer - select printer properties...advanced tab...check print directly to printer. Checks should print now. Downside...everything prints directly to the printer (no spooling) which can be slow at times. Also I have found printing pdf's using this option won't print so you'll have to change it back. I'm using Windows 7

My HP 5610 is printing extremely slow.

Very simple solution: The cartridges still have ink in them but printing is very slow. Remove the cartridges from the printer. Take a wet paper towel and wipe the print head on each one until the ink flows from each head. Usually it is the color cartridge because it is used less than the black one. Once ink is flowing again, reinsert the cartridges into the printer and your normal printing speed will return. This worked for me, no thanks to the "experts" or trouble shooting guides..

Slow Printing

it may just be a slow printer head, maybe an upgrade is in order. look on the box for page printing speed.
it may also be that you have the resolution set too high for basic printing. try turning this down slightly.

hope this helps.

Brother MFC 210C Printing slow

You may have already tried but /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} From page 129 of the manual: http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/BSC/public/files/dlf/doc000222/MFC-210C_UsaEngUsr_B.pdf
Changing the printer driver setting may improve the print speed.
Highest resolution needs longer data processing, transfer and printing
time. Try the other settings of quality in the printer driver ‘Basic’ tab.
Also, click the ‘Settings’ tab, and make sure you uncheck the
True2Life®.

Borderless printing is slower than normal printing. If you want to print
more quickly, set the Borderless feature off.

Printing Slow

hi,

check the length of the usb cable. if it is very lengthy then there would be problems with the speed.

if not
> unplug the usb cable
> click "start-->control panel--> printers and faxes"
> select the printer icon and delete it
> restart the computer
> plug the usb cable
> wait for few minutes while the driver installations are complete automatically.
> once that is done, try to print

thanks and regards

Extremely slow copying

Cartridges may give a very slow printing if internally damaged, or :
When using colored paper in the all-in-one, printing or copying is slow. This issue is a result of the automatic paper type sensor misreading the colored paper as photo paper. The print out takes longer because the unit is printing in Best mode instead of Normal mode.
  1. Click Start , point to Settings , and then click Control Panel .
  2. Double-click Printers and Faxes .
  3. Right-click the appropriate all-in-one, and then click Printing Preferences .
  4. Click the Paper/Quality tab and under Type is: select Plain Paper . This sets the default paper type setting to Plain Paper.
Hope this helps.
