Proscan model # PS61700 When tv is plugged in no picture or sound, only beeping noise. When I unplug the tv the beeping will continue for a few seconds but at a slower pace. Any ideas, easy fix?
I have the same problem with my Proscan PS61700; dead with a buzz. I have some experience with TV repair and have determined the horz output xsistor is shorted and most likely the flyback is bad, since the power supply tries to start.
So one may ask then why am I posting this if I know what's wrong... Well an experience technician said he has had no luck fixing this chassis, RCA type as well. He has repeatedly replaced flybacks and had several units come back with the same problem a week later of sometimes 3 months later. He recommended not to fix stating that the replacement flybacks are not to spec for some reason and this chassis seems to be the only one.
So my question is: has anyone seen this issue with the flybacks repeatedly failing for defective reasons OR is there something else that has failed causing the flybacks to possibly over-heat and fail again.
Thanks for the help in advance,

the ticking sound is coming out from the flyback that is high voltages!!! if you on the unit is there a picture coming out? or sounds coming out from speaker?
The beeping sound is most likely the high voltage generator needing replacement. This is a fairly easy job if you have some tech support to discharge the picture tube. You can go to the following link and leave them an email with your model number and your symptom and they will email you back with the part you need and they provide free tech support with instant messageing so you can do the repair yourself. the HV generator takes about a half hr to replace and takes only the basic soldering ability. heres the link. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
This indicates a problem in the power supply either the low voltage switching supply or the High voltage power supply. The sounds you hear is the shutdown circuit activating, I would not suggest that you try to repair this problem because of the dangers involved. I would suggest that you take it to a qualified TV repair shop. This problem should not cost you much, however it is the best choice for the problem you described.
I have a GE 46 in TV that had the same occurrence. I believe it is a sign that the amplifier is overheated or stressed. The way I fixed mine was to unplug TV and leave off for a few minutes -then plug in. I discovered this by accident when the power went off one day and the sound returned (had been using my vcr audio output plugged into my stereo for weeks!) This fix will work for weeks-sometimes months-evidently resets the circuits inside the amp somehow. Last time this happened I also removed the back of TV and blew out the dust with compressed air while it was unplugged-still have sound 4 months later without a "reset"-so I'm guessing it did help .
it is due to your VIF OR TUNER section has stopped working due to no supply or some parts gone defective.
some times it is due to signal absent from the source from you are getting.
good luck.
please give me a schematic drawing of the unit.

I have a RCA P56926 with the same problem. It happened just after a close lightening strike.
Has anyone ever figured out how to repair this problem?
Identical problem with Bush WS6674.
