The FM stations are not playing in my 1996 Nissan Maxima.
The FM stations are not being picked up on the radio for my 1996 Nissan Maxima even though the AM stations are working. When the FM Stations are selected it sounds as if you are between stations. This is the radio that has the CD and cassette deck along the AM/FM receiver.

FM need a good antenna, buT FM in the country side will be weak
or even dead, FM does not travel far at all ,even only 20 miles
AM we have super power stations that cover most the country.
I bet the RADIO is just fine.
it can be bench tested with a 1 strand of say 4 feet of wire for an antenna.
you posted about only a RADIO not CD and not AM
FM is short ranged, 88 to 108MHz. is that
no town told , but you can call your closest station and ask them there coverage, spec.? 50miles or 10 or? what ever.
or you can go to a 2nd car, test FM see if there is one strong station.
if not there there is none.
on home RADIO we use a roof mounted 30Ft high antenna, FM
and goes way father,.
in car that can not be done, most antenna amps in cars only increase noise.
is this your first car, or first ever FM radio.?
yes antenna's can fail even the ground, (it is 2 wire coax to fail)
the mount can corrode. the cable can be bad.
some have antenna in the wind shield glass, and some one puts in new glass with no antenna there well that fails hard.
FM is mostly a CITY BIG DEAL, no living in the sticks.
also there are tiny FM micro station, and those are weak.
only line get a FM map for you town, just like Cell phones but for FM.
radio. see what is there and its POWER/coverage.
well there are 4 causes.
1: too far from radio station and it goes dead. fades to dark
2: bad fuse to raid or loose fuels (fuses can get micro cracks)
3: radio is bad, buy a new one.
4: antenna bad, lose or connector fell off back of radio or the antenna is damged.
does AM and FM both fails or other sources of sound fail?>
that is the first test you did not do.

Most everything is digital now. There are very few analog OTA stations left. If you do not have a analog station nearby then the t.v. will not pick anything up.
unfortunately, the voice recorder works only as voice recorder, it cannot play FM and record it at the same time. though you can play fm radio from another device and record it using your SanDisk mp3 player.
To transfer your recordings from your mp3 player, connect your device to your PC.
Open "My computer" from your PC and you'll there "your Sansa Player"
Double-click on "your Sansa Player", then open the "Music" folder, then, open "Recordings" folder.
There are issues with newer ipods not being 100%compatible with all devices. It is done intentionally by Apple to maximize their profits. For example, an FM transmitter charges and plays on one Ipod, but then a newer ipod will play with the FM transmitter, but the ipod display shows that it is incompatible and will not charge. Same issues with a docking station and a radio. All worked with three other ipods, but the newer ones either won't work or charge depending on the device. Even though ipods play with certain devices they may not charge them and vice versa. Thank Apple for that. I hope this helps and good luck!
2008 Altima radio-the sound just quit working. Everything else seems to be OK. I can change the radio stations, but no sound. Is there a fuse that could be bad?
