WD 73835 has ghosting images during dark or red scenes

Make sure your contrast isn't set too high. Most ghosting is caused by either contrast, brightness or tint issues. Try adjusting these settings. Also check if there is a Dynamic contrast setting for your TV as well as this can cause ghosting also.

Good Day, Techwanab;

Look for this to be your problem: CHECK FOR OPEN L2C50 PART #325C146030 ON THE SIGNAL PCB, OR BAD CONNECTIONS AND LEAKY CAPS IN THAT AREA.

Hope this was helpful and not too late.

Good Luck, big IRISH.

TV shuts off with high color images . Example: explosions,bright lights etc

Normally, the screen control being up a little to high, would cause this problem. If no one has worked on this unit when it started may be a sign of something else, for example, the 200 volt line may be running a little low. Check the brightness and contrast for starters and if that doesn't help, then, the screen control would be my next step. Hope this helps.
