My ProForm 530 is stuck in the incline position. Once the key is inserted, the treadmill is steady trying to incline past 12 and does not respond to me pressing the ''incline down'' button. It continues to try and go past 12. What do I do?

    Hi David,

I tried what you suggested. The treadmill was already at the highest incline and was just knocking as if it could not decide if it wanted to incline some more (which isn't possible) or if it wanted to decline. Anyhow, I let it sit for about 5 minutes to see if it would re-adjust itself back into position. I even put it into diagnostic mode and tried to recalibrate that way as well. No luck. I'm not sure what to do now. It's still stuck as it was and just keeps making this loud knocking noise...Nancy

Plug her back in, insert key, let her do her thing while u just sit back- I believe shes trying to Calibrate. If so, she will go up all the way, then back down on her own. after she's in down posistion, console will beep/beep and she has reset herself.. let me know what goes on after u do this. David

Incline stuck up and "knocking" after calibration- incline mtr needs replacing- incline has internal issues and only correction is replacement.

The incline is stuck in the highest position

Try recalibrate. If that dont work, replace the incline motor.
  1. Press speed^ and stop simultaneously
  2. Insert key
  3. Press stop once
  4. Press Incline up
  5. (This should recalibrate incline). If this fails, replace the incline motor.

How do you get the running deck down?

If you are saying that the deck is in the folded position and will not fold down then pull the pin on the left side of the deck. If the pin is stuck then try and plug in the treadmill insert the safety key and push the down incline button on the console. This should make it so that the pin will un-jam.

Proform 2500 treadmill stuck in incline position

Under the motor shroud their is a instruction mini manual it will have a how to calibrate the incline motor, if that does not fix it then you may have to manually adjust the incline motor and sometimes it will take awhile to realign . If that does not work replacing the motor maybe the only option

Proform 740CS runs okay but the incline does not

ProForm Treadmills have a reset procedure for the incline function. With the key inserted in the console, activate the incline; while the incline is changing, remove the key. Wait 30 seconds, then replace the key. The incline should to maximum, then to minimum, resetting its limits. It worked for mine just 10 minutes ago; the procedure is in the manual if you have it. Good luck!

My treadmill is stuck at the highest incline and will not decline

Although it is fairly rare the incline motor can jam up into the highest position and get stuck there. To fix this take off the plastic hood that covers the incline motor and depending on the motor you should be able to wind it with your hand out of the highest position. When it is out of the highest position run the calibration as described in the owner's manual and it should go all the way up and all the way down. If it is not this type of motor that can be wound by hand then the first and last thing to do is to try calibration of the incline as described in your manual. If this does not work then a new incline motor is needed.

My Proform treadmill will not incline. It is stuck at about mid incline. When I turn on the treadmill, it raises and lowers back to mid incline right away. Despite pressing incline buttons, there is no...

Under the hood there should be a tech sheet with calibration instructions. I have not worked on these for several years or I would rattle off the procedure. If the sheet is still there make sure you put it back in the plastic sleeve for next time..... Eric

Stop button, fan button, up incline button are not working on proform 530. do these buttons have something in common?? fixable without a new console??

If some buttons work, you more than likely have a key pad problem. Unfortunately Icon doesnt sell kep pad seperately. As a last effort, try heating up those buttons wit a blow dryer. This will work temp. sometimes.
