If your remote was built and programmed less than 6 months before the TV was released or the TV is newer than the remote, then the codes in the unit will not include your TV. There is a lag in the codes being provided to the companies that build universal remotes.

Please check the date on the TV, since I see that the remote may have been released in 2006. It could be older than that. (There are requests for help with the remote with November 2006 dates that show up on a google search.) If the remote is older than the TV, try a newer universal remote.

If the TV actually is older than the remote, then try a different universal remote to check if the TV's IR receiver has failed or if the remote has failed. Some TVs can respond intermittently to a remote - hitting the sensor may bring the response back temporarily. Then you may be able to find a replacement receiver (try stores like shopjimmy.com or partstore.com). If hitting the unit works, you could try just resoldering the receiver to the board. (A solder joint that swells and contracts can lose contact between the board and the parts on the board.) When searching for parts, open the TV and find out the part number on the board that needs to be replaced. Some sites may have the part but not list the specific TV model that you have. The parts are often used in several TVs.

Is the remote for the tv programmable? I don't think so. Your going to probably have to get a universal remote and program both the satallite and the tv into it.

(I have the RX-V659). Because the Yamaha remote has TWO SEPARATE buttons - power ON and power OFF (standby). This problem can't be fixed. There's a code to choose power ON and another code for power OFF. But one button can't be two buttons. Bad engineering\ design by Yamaha in my opinion

I have this remote...only Pioneer listings are as follows: TV: 1004,1006,1089 VCR/DVR: 2010,2055,2071 DVD: 3312,3311,3287,3286 To program (for example TV setting): Press and hold down TV while entering code i.e. 1-0-0-4 To manually cycle through all codes (example for TV): Press and hold TV while pressing and holding ON/OFF, after 3 seconds the on/off button light should come on and stay on - release all buttons. Turn your TV on and press ON/OFF once each 5 seconds until your TV turns off. When it turns off, you have the correct code - press the stop button. Good luck.
