CD player won't play random

Check the mode of operation. There can be a setting where it just plays one disc. Random or mixed will give you more songs to get to other discs.

In computers there is no real randomness.

Repeats are not forbidden in a true random pattern anyway.

It has probably been programmed to only play 22 cd's. The unit can be set to play random cd's, but if the original owner only had 22 cd's then he probably programmed it to only see the 22 cd's. If he didn't program it to only see 22 cd's, then it would randomly select cd 23, and since there was nothing there, it wouldn't play anything. If you have a manual, it tells you on page 23, service level 1, button 5 how to program for more or less cd's. If you don't have a manual, you can download one from a couple of sites, I just googled it, and found a complete manual from a Wurlitzer site in the US, don't remember which one. I seem to be having the same problem and all signs point to the serial control board board Pt# 0046630 under the player. The symptoms with mine were randomly cutting off songs about 20 sec after song start and returning disc to carrier. It started mostly when juke was first turned on (cold) and then progressed to all the time and now display on cd board is dark only randomly coming to life then dead again. power on the sub transformer is good and when it comes to life player works well. I am sending the board to be repaired.

All players need cleaned from time totime. Do NOT try to clean it with anything other than a CD / DVD lens cleaner. They are available almost everywhere that sellsBlank media. It will clean the lens without scratching or smearing it.

If it isn't a very early OMT then there is a switch on the right of the Credit Computer which says Continuous Play on it. Flip the switch and the machine will play random selections.

push down the song changer and go to settings.now go to play mode and press shuffle

The point of buying a 5 disc CD/DVD player is that you can let the machine play randomly through all 5 CD . Where is that button ?
