won't scan or print in colour, even though all printer settings say that colour is selected & print preview shows in colour too

  • HazelLP Feb 09, 2008

Hi, forgot to say that the ink cartridge is practically full too - I took it out and reinserted it now just in case it was really empty but the printer thought it was still full.

How do i scan a document from my c3180?

Here are the steps to scan documents to your computer

1. Turn on your computer, wait for it to boot up, then turn on your printer.
2. Locate the " HP Photo and Imaging Director " icon on your computer and double click it.
This icon was placed there when you installed your printer.
3. After double clicking on the icon, a menu screen will appear showing the scanning options
available on your C3180 printer.
4. Place your document or picture on the printer's glass top and close the lid.
5. Click on the appropriate selection from the menu screen ( Scan Document or Scan Picture )
6. The scanning process will now take place. The scanner will make two passes. The first pass
will allow you to judge the accuracy of the scan and to make changes, if necessary, from your.
monitor. The second pass is the acceptance of the document/picture to the computer.
7. Scanned documents can be viewed in the " My Documents " folder, scanned pictures can be
viewed in the HP Photo Gallery and the My Pictures folder.

I hope this was of help to you.

Hp c3180 with windows 7 64 bit won't work

When I bought my Windows 7 64bit, my c3180 did everything but scan. I downloaded the drivers 5 times with no avail. I stumbled onto how to do it by accident. Go to control panel, click on devices and printers, click ONCE on HP photosmart 3100 series and look at top of window. It will have several choices, one of which is 'start scanning'. Hope this helps.

I'm trying to scan in a document and then fax it using HP Photosm

Unlike most scanners, you must put the page that you want to copy in lower right corner of the glass (notice the small arrow pointing to the corner). This should fix any problem with an image being cut off. As far as faxing, I don't think the C3180 is able to fax pages. Hope this helps

Printer all in one and I want to scan a picture to my computer, when I hit the scan button get the blinking lite but nothing else. what am i doing wrong new computer

Hi,
The all in one solution software you used in XP doen't work with Vista.

But you can still scan and copy by using Windows Photo Gallery.

1. Click on files tab at the top in Window Photo Gallery.
2. Click on import from camera or scanner.
3. Highlight your scanner icon (ie HP C3180) then click import.
4. New scan window will popup, now you can preview or scan using this basic looking Vista utility.

Hope that helps.
