Need a driver for RCA Lyra RD2840

My computer has Vista, and will not recognanize my Lyra 2840 without the driver. My CD drive will not play the disc that came with the player. Does any one have the driver?

    I first went to the RCA site and they only have a firmware update for the player. I need ths USB driver for it. Or if anyone can tell me how to get Vista to recognanize it as a external drive.

RCA Lyra RD2840 Player quit, now will not turn on at all
Unfortunately, the RD2800 Lyra family (RD2825, RD2826 an RD2840) mp3 players have a frequent problem in the battery circuitry, and there are two tiny integrated circuits that are shorted very frequent.

You will need to check the power adapter prior to confirm that the problem is in the RCA mp3 player.

Using a multimeter in DC voltage setting, check the AC power adapter gives a voltage of around 5.0 VDC. If so, then the mp3 player is fried.

The repair involves to opn it, and replace the damaged integrated cicuits. Only a qualified technician with tools and parts cando it.

RCA approved repair centers charge $125.00 for such repair.

If you will look for a cheapest way to fix it, you can contact in ebay to the seller with ID Great_items_2004

I delete lys.sys folder from my lyra, where can I get the from?
Just Google the internet with "RD2840 firmware download", download the firmware upgrade .exe file, and follw the instructions in upgrading the firmware of it.

Part of the proces is to restablish all the necessary files.

Where can I find a new battery for my old Lyra RD2840 40GB mp3 player
The battery for Lyra RD2840 is a built in Lithium Ion Polymer Rechargeable Battery. It doesn't say removable as with other MP3 players.I believe, you will need to bring the mp3 player to the manufacturer's service center to have its battery replaced. =(
