Have a Gemini CDX-602 Rack mount system. The Right cd deck quit working reports no disk after I insert a good Music cd. The Left side plays the cd just fine. I swaped the right and Left mechanizums and the problem is following the Mechanizim so now the left side wont read but the right side works fine. Purchased a new cd lazer head replaced it and still get the same error. what would be the next step?

I have a CDX GT610, the issue is that is not possible to change stations, even if I try with the push buttons to record the stations, it remains on the same station (number 3 in my case), besides the volume gets high if I want increase the volume, any suggestion about it??? please let me know
The gears have probably come out of sync, meaning the tray is riding on the limit switch. You need to remove the deck, dismantle and re-sync the drawer mech. Check the limit switch isnt bent, it's quite flimsy
Just like with any CD player, the optics have lifetimes. Either the optics are dirty and can not read the disk or they have failed. These units use KSS-213 optics assemblies from Sony, if I remember correctly. These can be purchased for around $25. Any one with audio repair experience should be able to replace them for you.
I have had this problem as well and found out a couple of things in the process. The offending deck sometimes just does not find the proper cue marks on the disc. I have unplugged the interconnect cable and plugged it back it, this resets the unit and this appears to work for a few times.
However, I also opened the bottom unit and cleaned the laster lenses, we are in a dusty climate and the dust builds up no mater what you do to control it.
If you choose to clean the lenses, you will notice there is a gear near the openings of the laser. Turn off your unit and rotate the gear so the laser shows in the opening. Clean the lens, I used a little Windex and a cue tip. Rotate the gear so the lens is in the position it was before you moved it for cleaning.
