My DVD remote isn't working correctly, when I press any of the buttons, I get a hand symbol on the top right of my tv screen. Is there anyway it can be reset? I have looked my manual but can't find anything in it showing troubleshooting.

Remotes are really not worth trying to fix unless its a small hardware problem this sounds to me like a Shock Damage issue wich are normally very difficult i recommend you spend 5$ on a nice new Universal remote or even go buy a used one for a buck at goodwill ;)
