Problem with sonicstage software

Hi,

The NW-E55 Walkman Player is compatible only with the SonicStage Software for transferring the songs. Unfortunately, the Software is not compatible with the Windows 7 OS and won't be able to transfer the songs from the Windows 7 OS using the SonicStage Software. Only option to transfer the songs to the Player using the Software is via Windows XP or Vista. However. once you install the Software and transfer the songs, you've to use the same computer to transfer or delete the songs again.

The Software for tranferring the songs can be installed depending upon the Operating System installed in the Computer. Before installing the SonicStage Software in the Computer, install the SonicStage Security update. Click here to install the SonicStage Security update.

This seems to be an error message when the database of the SonicStage Software has been changed. I suggest you to backup all the Songs in the Player and update the Software. Make sure that the SonicStage Backup Tool is used for creating a backup disc. Then, uninstall the SonicStage Software and install the latest version of the SonicStage Software(ver 4.3). Before installing the Software install the SonicStage Security update and then the SonicStage Software version 4.3 for Windows Vista.
After installing the Software the issue will get resolved.

You will need to get the Sony Vaio recovery disc from Sony... costs $10 or so. Then, You will need to remove the following programs using Add/Remove Programs in My Computer: Click to DVD, SonicStage (Nero), & SonicStage Mastering Studio. After you remove these, use a Registry Clean-up program such as Norton 360 to remove the loose fragments of registry enteries. (They all have to go or the Sony Vaio recovery CD will still think your PC has a newer version of the PXEngine and will not install anything.) Then, insert the Sony Vaio recovery CD for your PC and install the programs back-in the same order as above. If it still doesn't work properly, then you will have to remove the Shared Library and re-install it later too! As a last resort, go back to a known, previously good system date in your Windows Recovery console and go back there. (Sonic Mastering Studio is the key program, if it works you're out of the woods.) Use only the Vaio update for your PC and update the original configurations according to the install order listed in the Download Taxi pop-up notes. If you install in the wrong order, Sonic Mastering Studio will not work properly. NOTE: To make full use of Mastering Studio you need one of two Rolland box models or copy-cat variety.

I don't know if this will help but have you tried Sony's website? There is a security update for Sonic Stage 4.3 that they say must be installed in order to make the program run properly. Go to Sony USA and type in minidisc players in the search window. Then click on the link for minidisc players. When that window opens type in your model number and the page displaying that particular model should open. There you should find the latest software updates. I downloaded Sonic Stage 4.3 along with all of the needed updates from Sony's site and it works just fine for me. You may have to uninstall your current software and reinstall it after installing the security update as the installation instructions on the website said that the installation must be done in that order or the Sonic Stage software may not work properly. Sony also offers email tech support.

Try downloading the newest version of SonicStage from the website.
Select your Model and click the blue button.
That one supports Vista.

Arrghh, hehe that's the SonicStage software problem, I would suggest you to use Driver & MP3 File Manager Ver.2.0http://www.sonydigital-link.com/DNA/downloads/downloads.asp?l=en&ct=NWF&f=MP3FM20 It's much simpler and easyer tool to use. But if you still want to use SonicStage get a new version off the Sony site http://musicstore.connect.com/custom/promos/non_ie.html?checkBos=false New version is 4.3, hope it resolves the problems. if not just in case here is my icq 24083314. good luck
