Display to big with PS3

I love this TV and hate to get a new one so I hope you guys can help.

The TV seems to work just fine however whenever I'm playing the Playstation 3 the screen seems to extend beyond the viewable area. How can I fix this? This only happens in 1080i but that's why we got the PS3 for the HD.

Also it seems the convergence gets out of wack often and needs to be adjusted or the screen looks blurry.

Hi. I have a Toshiba 51h83, and when I run my playstation 3 @ 1080i it does not look HD to me at all. The worst part of the problem is that the sides are cut off, the only way to have them show is by running @ 460p...Is there some way to solve this problem?

FYI - the supported HD modes for the 55PW9363 are 480p and 1080i but seemingly not 720p. If when you are using 1080i and the convergence is way off you just need to adjust the convergence in the menu. The reason is that each resolution needs it's convergence set separately.

I have philips 55pw9363 55" projection tv. and I'm trying to get to 1080i but seems like it could only go up to 480p. I use the DVI to HDMI monster cable. Can anyone please help me on this.

All CRT RPTVs have overscan, and some sources bring this out more than others.

It can always be cured to at least be able to see the needed parts of the pic, but hoses your picture beyond belief, and correcting that takes time, experience, patience and expertise.

I do overscan reduction on all CRT RPTVs as part of what my calibrations offer, but charge extra to do so.

My ps3 seems to be going through RLOD, lemme describe it. okay i press the on (button) in the front, it beeps turns green, and immediately after i can hear (near or underneath the psu) a clicking noise....

Yes you have the RLOD. What I suggest with this being a big issue is check your craigslist, go to video games, in the search bar type repair. There are alot of people working on the systems now to try to repair them. I had a 60G PS3 and now I am wishing I had it back lol. But this is my suggestion anywhere else is going to try to replace yours with something different.. I hope this helps you out.

My game BFBC2 won't load! Whenever i turn on my PS3 it works fine. When I put the game in the disk icon pops up. Normal. But when I click it my screen goes black. It's a brand new game too! I'm sick of it!...

I'm not and expert but this helped me, turn of the system and then there is a switch on the back. Turn that switch off and let it sit for about one minute. That should work.

I cant see the PS3 display.

u can use an HDMI cable it gives you both sound and HD picture. so try that and if that doesnt work reset the video settings by holding the power button for 2 beeps and wait untill it restarts.

NHL 08 won't load

Your TV does not have the same requirements as the Sony PS3 Console. The PS3 Uses Standard Def. and High Def. Blu-Ray Display. You need Blu-Ray enabled on your Television. Hope this helped.

Will not display 1080p from a Sony ps3??

Connect your PS3 through the HDMI 2 port on the TV and as a PC under the tv settings. Then auto setup the tv on the PS3 and it will now see it as 1080P. It will give you some error message whenever the PS3 is first turned on but it will work. Hope this helps everyone.

Samsung LCD tv and PS3

the problem is with the frames per second that the ps3 is putting out. i wound up calling both samsung and sony and the problem was in the settings. the ps3 allows you the option of playing in 24hz and for some reason if the option isn't turned off our tvs won't display frames at that rate. just go to the dvd settings and deselect the 24hz option, changing it from AUTO to OFF... the only problem i have with this is that this should effect the picture quality, becasue if it isn't displaying in 24hz that means it is downscaling the display and if it isn't upscaled by the tv's processor, then the display should be worse. i might be imagining it, but it does seem worse.. atleast they play now though. hope i helped.
