In most cases this can be solved by setting up a brand new account on XBL which will give you a free 30 day trial to gold and then require you to update... if you cannot get this to work shoot me an email [email protected]

I can literally walk you through this process

Cant connect to xboxlive again

Hi Jennie

First make sure that your xbox has the most up to date live update, you can do this on your computer by going to http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-360/system-updates/system-updates-info and downloading it and then putting it on a usb disk and plugging it in to your xbox, 9 time out of 10 this will solve connecting to xbox live problems

Alright my girlfriend just got an xbox and she has everything set up, but she cant connect to live because a text pops up that says that it requires an update but she said that it has said that 5 times....

The easiest way to update your console software is to connect to Xbox LIVE. To update your console by using Xbox LIVE, all you need is an Internet connection.
  1. Connect your Xbox 360 console to the Internet. To learn how, please see How to connect to Xbox LIVE.
  2. On the console, go to My Xbox, and then select System Settings.
  3. Select Network Settings.
  4. Select Wired Network or the name of your wireless network, if you are prompted to do so.
  5. Select Test Xbox LIVE Connection.
  6. Select Yes if you are prompted to update the console software.

If you receive a connection error, try using the Xbox LIVE Connect Solution.

Console update did not install successfully?

If her system says that she needs an update then likely her connection should be getting to Live. You might need to clear her cache first and then try the steps above. Here is how you will clear your cache:

To clear the system cache

  1. Go to My Xbox, and then select System Settings.
  2. Select Memory.
  3. Highlight any storage device, and then press Y on your controller.
(It doesn't matter which storage device you select; the cache will be cleared for all storage devices.)
  4. Select Clear System Cache.
  5. When prompted to confirm storage device maintenance, select Yes:

I have xbox live but cant update it.

The new update for xbox 360's launch of Kinect is causing problems. I fixed mine by going into System Settings, Network settings, then running a test on xbox live. Initiating the test logs your profile out then runs a network test. The test completed with no problems and then asked me if I wanted to update again. Without logging back into my profile I clicked OK and the update ran without a hitch. I think the solution lies in the fact that my profile was logged out and from what I have seen, the only way to connect to xbox live without a profile being logged in is with a network test. Once you connect to xbox live it senses that you don't have the update and asks you again, this time without a profile logged in and you are able to do it.

Cant download update for xbox live

Have you set up your connection via wireless or earthnet then when you are conected to the Internet it should let you download the update also if you don't no where the xbox settings are go to the slide or blade where you play your games then at the end you shoud find the system settings or if you have the standerd update there will be a blade to the far right which will display the settings you need you would need to go on network settings the configarate network also there might be a password for your WEP or the other security type . Just saying the password might not be what you think mine was a code to let me in to router that was some random numbers with 2 letters

Xbox 360 Cant update xbox live Susspended

You can go to www.xbox.com and log into your live account. In there you can add the pre-paid card to your account. There should be a way to do this on the console as well, but am not sure off the top of my head how to do so.
