AOC LM729 17" LCD Monitor

My LM729 will power on, I see the splash screen, then it goes dark and flickers like it is trying to come on. The power light is blinking. If I leave the monitor unplugged for a few days and they it again it will come on, but the first time it goes into sleep mode it will not wake back up. That's when the screen flickers and the power light blinks again. Can this be fixed easy?

The guy with the with the capacitor suggestion is right. i had tried re-soldering the coils with no luck. i then found this post. i checked the c922 capacitor. the top of it was swolllen. the rest nearby were flat. i found one in an old peice of electronics equipment i had laying around and replaced it. monitor now powers up and works fine. i would suggest using a new capacitor. however, this is sunday and no local electronics stores are open. :)

Aoc monitor power button will not turn on

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Take it to a repair shop.

Hook up that monitor to another laptop or computer. If it works then its an issue with the vga port on your laptop. If the monitor still shows those lines then you know for sure the monitor is bad and it will have to be replaced.

My AOC screen goes black after about a few seconds after booting.

Hello,

The picture board on your monitor is bad, since it goes off after few seconds and the power led or button is on, it means the picture board of your monitor has developed fault.

The best thing for you to do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer or service center within your vicinity to help with the replacement of the picture board because the fault is not something you can fix yourself, in order not to complicate issues.

Take care.

Blue screen flickers and goes almost completely dark... when i plug into a different monitor, everything on that monitor is clear, so i know the compputer itself is fine. How do I check for a loose

most likely inverter issue, or somewhere in between inverter and LCD, illumination bets thing to do is to take aprt the LCD frame and disconnect and reconnect all wires leading from the inverter. If that doesn't work, the replace the LCD wires and or inverter.

AOC LCD Screen (LM726) Flickers on then off

Well with my experience when an LCD monitor does that it usually is something in the power board on the inside. If it is still under warranty I would suggest getting it RMA'ed back to AOC. Here is the page where you can start the RMA process with AOC.

http://www.nam.aocdisplay.com/aoc/index.html

Just click on USA RMA Request form, then click you agree, then fill out the form and then submit. They should get back with you pretty quick.

Hope this helps, and don't forget to rate.

Monitor picture goes extremely dark

sounds like the backlight is defective. You can probably get a new backlight online if your comfortable taking apart sensitive electronic equipment BUT you must be very very carefull and handle the lcd with care as you can easyly damage it. Oh one more thing the power supply may also be defective for the backlight. I would contact the manufacture to see about the repair or replacement parts as they should be listed in your operators manual. Good Luck
