My LM729 will power on, I see the splash screen, then it goes dark and flickers like it is trying to come on. The power light is blinking. If I leave the monitor unplugged for a few days and they it again it will come on, but the first time it goes into sleep mode it will not wake back up. That's when the screen flickers and the power light blinks again. Can this be fixed easy?

The guy with the with the capacitor suggestion is right. i had tried re-soldering the coils with no luck. i then found this post. i checked the c922 capacitor. the top of it was swolllen. the rest nearby were flat. i found one in an old peice of electronics equipment i had laying around and replaced it. monitor now powers up and works fine. i would suggest using a new capacitor. however, this is sunday and no local electronics stores are open. :)
